On to the questions!

1. What holiday do you wish did not exist? I don’t know…there’s not really any holidays that come to mind that I dislike

2. What is your favorite romance/love movie? “The Notebook” I can’t help it, I just love that movie!

3. Do you make a big production out of celebrating Valentine’s Day? Nah, not really…just get my hubby a card and something else to go with it and he gets me a card and a present…sometimes we go out to eat, sometimes we stay home

4. What is something weird you did as a child? (or even now!) When I was little, I liked to hang around in the house in just my underwear….I have no idea why, I just did!

5. What makes you love your husband, really LOVE him, you know since Valentines is coming up? He knows how to cheer me up and he makes me laugh 🙂 Oh and he gives the best bear hugs!

On to the questions!

1. What is your favorite book to read with your kids? I’m not a parent yet so I obviously don’t have a favorite but there’s a book called ‘I love you forever” that I would love to read to my future children. 🙂 I love the line, “I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, As long as I’m living, My baby you’ll be” 🙂

2. After having kids, what body part has changed the most? I have not had the opportunity to see! LOL

3. Would you ever go back to college? What would you study? Yes, I would but at this point of my life, I really don’t want to….I went for about 7 years already working on an Associate’s. I got almost done with a Music Degree and then switched to Theatre so I have an Associate of Arts in Theatre with a Music Minor. Unfortunately, the type of jobs I’m looking for now don’t sound very relevant to my degree but the thing that NON-Theatre Majors don’t realize is that a Theatre Major is NOT an easy major and you learn much more from it than you might think. I had to not only learn lines but learn how to analyze plays, get into the mind of my character much like you do in psychology and put yourself in the same place, I learned to be on time or you’re out, I learned how to tell a person’s age from facial appearance and therefore, how to make myself or someone else look younger or older with make-up as well as various other techniques. I learned how to do basic sewing (though I hate it) and how to keep inventory for a costume shop. I learned how to keep a make up station clean and organized. I learned how to put aside sickness and bad days and plunge yourself into your work. I learned how to put scenery together, how to use different equipment in the scene shop, how to varnish wood, how to paint just about anything, how to take down a stage light, open it up, put a new color slide(forgive me for forgetting the terminology here) and put the light back up. I learned tool names and how to use them. I learned how to be a sound designer and how to do the basics on a sound board. I learned about teamwork in both acting AND doing backstage crew work. I learned not to rely on a specific word or cue for your next line cause sometimes people forget and ad lib even though they shouldn’t. And…I could go on and on. Basically, my point is that being a Theatre Major is about so much more than reading plays and memorizing lines!

4. How do you close a phone call? Bye, bye bye or other? I just say bye….LOL

5. What is the one food that will always be your “cheat food” on a diet? I refuse to call it cheat food OR Cheat Days….When you call it ‘Cheating” even IF it’s allowed, it just makes you really guilty feeling. I try to now ask myself if I crave something that’s not healthy, “Do you REALLY want this?” And then I really think about if the feeling the food will give me for a short time is worth how I will feel later….not guilty but a lot of times after eating unhealthy, my body will not work as well or my mood might be down so I really take some time, think about it, wait for awhile and if I STILL crave it, I’ll eat a little bit. Most of the time, I decided I either don’t really want it or the craving passes so I figure the few times it doesn’t pass won’t hurt me. 🙂 I want to be a healthier person but we are all Human and to make everything you love Forbidden just doesn’t work out in the long run, at least for not a majority of people!

On to the questions!

1. Do you embrace or dread snow/cold weather days? Our cold weather days in THIS part of Texas are maybe 30’s, 40’s and very rarely snow so I embrace them. I LOVE colder weather because I hate the heat and sweating LOL….I love weather where I HAVE to wear a jacket and it still feels a little chilly but not too much. 50’s are my favorite temp! 🙂

2. Which game show or reality show could you totally win? I could totally win on “Don’t forget the lyrics”….as long as there wasn’t all Country Music LOL and I think I could do very well on “Wheel of Fortune”…I would LOVE to go on that show!

3. What is your preferred climate? 50’s and 60’s with a little wind…..and if I am stuck inside all day, I actually love Rain cause it makes for some great sleep and good reading weather as well!

4. What do you buy every time you walk into the grocery store, no matter what? There’s not really anything I buy every trip..Lately, I would say Pineapple cause that’s a pretty regular thing I buy. I love Pineapple! 🙂 Spinach is a regular thing cause I buy it fresh and it doesn’t last long and Flavored Drink Mixes for my Water!

5. If you see a spider/bug in the house, are you brave enough to kill it, or do you call for your hubby? Unless the spider was a Black Widow and it’s somewhere I can’t reach, I would kill the spider….I’m not TOO afraid of them but I don’t want them crawling on me, of course! If it’s a roach, especially a BIG one, I call for my hubby and he can always tell! “Baby, come here! Hurry! It’s an emergency!” and he replies with, “Where is it?” LOL

On to the questions!

1. If you were going to be stuck on a deserted island, which 5 books, movies, people and foods would you take along? Are we talking 5 in total or 5 EACH of each category cause there IS a difference… if it was 5 all together, then I would probably bring my hubby and some of my best friends, preferably a friend with a survivor instinct…LOL

If we are talking 5 a category, then 5 books…Ah! I can’t pick just 5 books, this is a hard one! Ok,ok…I’m going to think strategy…I would bring a book on edible plants and how to find them and know which ones were poisonous or not, one book on wilderness or island survival, one on first aid without advanced equipment, one on how to build a raft, possibly? and a trivia book, just because LOL

As for movies, why would you bring movies? Is this deserted island have a source of electricity and a VCR or DVD player & TV somewhere? Uh…how would I play the movies? We could just play charades!

People, my husband, my best friend ever because she’s my best friend but also because I think she would be better at getting us off the island than me, someone with a vast knowledge of survivor skills AND some billionaire’s kid….cause if the billionaire’s kid’s with us, I have a feeling we might get found quickly 😉

Food-Obviously bottled water and tons of it, if that counts as food…..canned food that has the lids you can pop off, vienna sausage or spam cause they last for a long time, crackers, and Twinkies…for my husband, NOT me LOL
2. What is your thought on year round school?  Depends on how you did it…..if it was year round with very little breaks, no….but if they did it where you go three months, then have a month break, go 3 more months, have a month break, etc. then I think it COULD work….I DO think kids do tend to forget things over a 3 month summer break so year round COULD be a good option, although if I was a kid right now, I probably wouldn’t like it!

3. What is your most embarrassing potty story? (Can’t be one of your kids’ potty stories either!) I don’t have a kid yet, so I can’t really cheat here! I’m trying to think of a story that would be appropriate to tell here and I’m having a hard time……I’ve accidentally used a men’s room before and not realized it until I walked out?

4. What’s the temperature where you are? 62 degrees Fahrenheit and sunny 🙂

5. Are you a winter/spring/fall/summer person? I like Fall and Winter but only on the days where it’s no warmer than 50’s and 60’s…that’s the ideal temp. for me! Plus the fall look is so beautiful to me and Winter brings Christmas which is almost the only time I see certain family members who I miss very much! 😦

On to the questions!

1. Flu mist? Flu shot? Or take your chances?I take my chances…I’ve never had a Flu Shot and I’ve only had the flu maybe once or twice as a kid. Every time my mom has had it, she ends up WITH the Flu, so I just figure I will take my chances. 🙂

2. Do your kids have iPads? What are some good educational apps? Price?I don’t have kids, so no to all these questions….and I don’t have an IPad myself either so not sure on any educational apps

3. What are your favorite boy/girl baby names? If and when I have a boy, I plan to name him Connor because I just love that name and so does my hubby….other than Connor, I don’t have any boy names picked out, but I like names that sound Irish for some reason. For a girl, I love Hailey Marie, Sapphira, and Arianna or Aria

4. If an apple a day keeps the doctor away, which apple do you choose to eat? (red/green, gala, red delicious…) I don’t eat apples much because of the number of carbs in them and I’m on a pretty strict with carbs diet that allows me just one fruit a day right now so honestly, I usually eat pineapple….which I always found strangely named because I think of it and think an apple from a Pine Tree? LOL

If I did pick to eat an apple, I would probably pick Granny Smith apples which are green and kind of sour…..I really like those!

5. What is your favorite place to escape to for peace & quiet, to think? Why? Depends on where my husband is at the time! LOL……Usually I like to hang out in my bedroom and read to escape or watch my favorite shows that he likes to gripe about, hehehe….but sometimes when he’s sleeping in the bedroom, I like to go to the big comfy chair in the living room and take over THAT TV or just put my feet up and read in there….I am an equal opportunity thinker……I can escape wherever I need to! 🙂

On to the questions!

1. Have you set any goals/resolutions for 2013? Goals, yes…resolutions NO 🙂 I don’t like the word “resolution” which I mentioned in my goals post from this past Tuesday. My goals were to blog daily this year, read 150 books, continue to lose more weight and to watch 50 NEW to me movies.

2. Have you made any travel/vacation plans for 2013? Nope…I would love to go to my niece Grace’s H.S. graduation in May but it’s looking like that won’t be possible….and funds aren’t exactly what they need to be to just more vacationing 😦

3. What room is never cleaned in your house? Every room in my house has been cleaned before….unless you count my bedroom closet as a room…cause it’s a walk in closet 🙂 Never really cleaned in there LOL

4. What food must be in your house at all times? Lately, I would say Spinach and Chicken….cause I tend to eat a lot of both but I also like to keep some Dark Chocolate Bars around for certain times….lol

5. Are you a hugger or more of a hands off person? Depends….I love to hug the people I know and love but I don’t hug too much, just when I haven’t seen someone in awhile or they are leaving and I won’t see them for awhile. So I’m a hugger but I’m not an obsessive one.

On to the questions!

1. If you had to give 1 million dollars to just one person (not your spouse), who would it be and why? If it could be family, then my mom and not just so she could then turn around and help us out with some of it……but so she could have some money to do with w/e SHE wanted….if it couldn’t be family, then I would probably give it to my best friend Tara, maybe? or another friend who could use some extra money?

2. What bathroom stall do you typically go to FIRST?  I like to go to the handicapped ones because they have more room LOL…..I hate the itty bitty stalls….and if they are all small, then I usually go to the very last one cause I always feel like people can see into the stalls…yes, I am weird…and I like my privacy while in the toilet!

3. How do you prefer to shop: In-store or online? Both, although online IS a lot more convenient and easier to shop around and find the best deals…..Sometimes it’s fun to shop IN the store, though and see and touch the items or try on the clothes, though….I just love shopping in general. I would love it even more if my pocket book was fuller, though! 🙂

4. What’s the weather like in your neck of the woods? It’s in the 40’s or 50’s, pretty cloudy and foggy looking…it was really foggy and rainy this morning….I love the coolness, it feels SO good to me! 🙂

5. Do you own a pair of Tom’s and what do you think? Overrated, underrated or about right? I do NOT own a pair of Tom’s, partly because I don’t pay over $20 for shoes unless it’s a good pair of sneakers and then not too much over that even……PLUS I just don’t like the design of Tom’s; they are just NOT my style. I think the look to them is overrated because I really think they are kind of ugly, but that’s just my own opinion. The concept behind Tom’s is wonderful, however, and I’m glad that so many people DO think they are attractive because I love the idea that for every pair you buy, a kid gets a pair of shoes in an underprivileged country. Great concept and I wish they did that with ALL brands of shoes.

I would like to send my condolences, thoughts AND prayers to those in any way effected by the elementary school shooting in Connecticut tonight! My heart goes out to you!

On to the questions!

1. If you bake during the holidays, what is your favorite thing to make? I don’t like to cook or bake…..I think I’m good at both but it’s just not my thing 🙂

2. Present giving: Gift bag vs wrapped box? I actually LOVE wrapping presents at Christmas so I prefer to so a wrapped box but I do use gift bags if need be, as far as opening presents…..I also prefer them wrapped…there’s just something so exciting about unwrapping versus digging around in a bag

3. What do you keep your thermostat on during the winter/summer in your house? In the summer, around 65, which can be quite expensive and if we had a big house, we couldn’t do, but we have an apt. so we make do….In the winter, we actually run the air between 65-70 a lot because our winter can tend to still be warm(at least for my standards), and when we do this, our bill is an awesome price! LOL….When it gets really cold, we’ll put the heat on around 65, I don’t like having the heat warmer than 70 cause it gets too hot for me

4. When thinking of your “Christmas to-do list” what percentage “done” are you? As far as gifts I planned to buy ahead of time, I am pretty much 100% done…..but there’s a couple of people that I added to buy gifts for now that I know how much money I have left to work with….so I guess I am about 95% done then? Waiting for things to come in the mail as well so I can wrap them!

5. Do you do the “Elf on a Shelf”? If so, is your Elf naughty and what shenanigans has he gotten into? No, I don’t do this but I have friends on Facebook that do and I so enjoy seeing what their Elf has gotten up to! I really would LOVE to get one someday and do this tradition myself! 🙂

Less than 3 weeks until Christmas! 🙂

On to the questions!

1. How many times have you moved and do you have any tips? I moved once when I was 12, then once when I first got married and again a few months later to another apt., I don’t really have any tips although I have learned the hard way to be extremely careful when moving with a computer……last time I moved, we had my computer in my dad’s van and it was in there securely, but just from the little bumps that he hit while driving, my computer ended up with a crack in the motherboard 😦 It really sucked, too, because it had lasted me a long time and was STILL in great shape….I wish I still had that one!

2. Do you have a budget for the holidays, or just keep sliding the credit card and have a heart attack in Jan? I do NOT own credit cards, never have and pretty sure I never will. I have enough debt anyway from unpaid hospital bills I can’t afford due to no insurance. 😦 I don’t have a specific budget either, I just try to find everyone a NICE gift that looks like I spent more for it but I try to find it for a great price and I try to only spend a certain amount on each person for the most part. I DO have a debit card but that’s basically like using cash cause I keep an eye on how much I have and how much I spend each place so I know I don’t spend more than I actually have.

3. What is the one medical thing you avoid like the plague? I don’t think there’s anything I specifically avoid…I prefer to stay out of the hospital or doctor appts. as much as possible JUST because I don’t have insurance and can’t afford it….but I’m not afraid of shots, bloodwork, etc.

4. What’s your least favorite Christmas song? Not sure I have one I don’t really like…..Pretty much the only time Christmas songs become annoying to me is if I hear them over and over TOO much like when I worked in JCPenney as a holiday temp., it was just like the same cd on repeat, over and over…..that can get annoying with any music!

5. This Christmas are you spending more, less or about  same? Why? About the same….We are living on basically the same income as last year which means we STILL can’t afford to spend a whole lot, but I think we will be able to spend about the same as we did last year….

*Extra note: I’m having a $5 raffle on my Facebook for the chance to win a 5 pack of Jewelry Candles. On to the questions!

1. What do you give teachers for gifts? Well, I don’t have kids…but when I was little, my mom usually bought small little expensive gifts for my teachers..the only one I really remember is this little calico cat that I gave to my FAV. teacher ever named Mrs. Hill who was my English teacher for 5th and 6th grade. The only reason I remember this is because I had a chance to meet her AGAIN as an older teen when she taught my niece Sara at another school in Austin and she told me about how much she loved that calico cat along with telling me she remembered how well I used to write and she loved reading my papers. 🙂 STILL my favorite teacher ever because of how well she remembered all her students…this is a rare thing, I think!

2. Do you text? One finger texter or total pro? I text sometimes yes, but I prefer a big keyboard so I can type 🙂 I mostly do one finger texts because as small as my fingers are…my phone virtual keyboard that you touch is just too small to really get all my fingers and both hands into texting…in fact, I use swype a lot cause it’s just easier

3. Do you give back during the holidays? If so, in what way/which is your favorite charity? Dropping money in the kettles of Salvation Army, really, is about it……money is just really tight but I try to help out by spreading the word about things as much as I can. I like to do the “Click” sites where every click is like a donation.

4. If you would’ve been the sole winner of the 575+ million dollar Powerball jackpot, what would you have done with all that money?
I would have had to buy one first of all…LOL…but say I DID buy one and win, well…I could then actually help out some charities for one thing! I would definitely share the wealth and help out my close friends and family, buy a house and a new car since my old one’s a junker at this point! I would definitely splurge and buy some things I really want BUT I would also help out others with it and then put a reasonable amount in savings for the future!
5. Will you please take just a moment to spread the word and pray about my friend’s missing family members? There still is no news, and I can’t imagine their pain and worry. Facebook prayer page:Prayers for Trista, Shy and Matt  I will definitely do this and I will encourage all of my blog readers to do so as well! Praying for’s friend’s missing family members! 😦

*This is an extra note: Be sure to tell your friends and family to like my page “TheRealSharon” on Facebook to stay up to date not only with my blog but my Rep. job with Jewelry Candles. They make a great unique gift and if you buy one from me, I will promote your page, business, company, etc. for free! Buy more than one and I will put your badge on my sidebar!*
