What are you currently reading? “Affliction” by Laurell K. Hamilton (So far it’s the best that I have read in a long time by her, and I appreciate the fact that it’s almost 600 pages long! <3)

What did you recently finish reading? “We wish to inform you that tomorrow we will be killed by our families: Stories from Rwanda” by Philip Gourevitch

What do you think you’ll read next? “Joyland” by Stephen King that my husband bought for me the same day I got “Affliction” 🙂 I wanted to read a book that I had got sent to read and review from a Goodreads Author but it’s not letting me send it to my Kindle for some reason…:(

spotlight

  1. Welcome to my Spotlight Sunday! Every Sunday I put someONE or someTHING I love IN the Spotlight!

Anyone is welcome to use the idea on their own blog and spotlight whoever or whatever THEY choose, but if you do, please use my lovely graphic that my friend made somewhere in your post to show that the idea came from here! And I would love it if you left the link in my comments, so I could go check out what YOU spotlighted!

Books are very much on my mind at the moment as I impatiently await tomorrow and the start of our library’s annual book sale. When I considered things to spotlight, nothing else came to me except for thoughts of books….so I decided to just do a short and simple spotlight today listing some of my favorite books. This is NOT a full list because my brain can’t remember ALL my favorite ones. This is just a short list of 10 of my favorites..which means the favs. that come off the top of my head right now! 🙂

10 Favorite Books!

  1. “Rebecca” by Daphne Du Maurier
  2. “Obsidian Butterfly(Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter,#9) by Laurell K. Hamilton
  3. “Flowers in the Attic” by V.C. Andrews (NOT ashamed to be a fan of V.C. Andrews!
  4. “Forbidden Mind Trilogy” by Kimberly Kinrade
  5. “Under the Dome” by Stephen King
  6. “Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a world that can’t stop talking” by Susan Cain
  7. “The Night Circus” by Erin Morgenstern
  8. “Hiding in Sunshine” by John and Caitlin Stuart
  9. “The Stranger Beside me:Ted Bundy” by Ann Rule
  10. “Where the Sidewalk ends” by Shel Silverstein rebecca

So…there you have it! 10 of my Favorite books of all! I linked them all to Goodreads so if any of them sound interesting to you, you can go read some more and add them to your reading lists, if you so choose! 🙂

What are you currently reading? “Bleeder (Apocalypto,#3) by L.K. Rigel-3rd book I have read on my Kindle….all 3 are in one big book together with the first two more novella length; Amazon has a membership thing kind of like NetFlix that you can get or try called Amazon Prime, I will not be buying it, but the first month is free so I have the first month so I could check out a book with their lending library. I checked out this Apocalypto series cause it sounded interesting and so far, it HAS been. Very Science Fiction, even though that’s usually not my thing…..they call this genre apocapunk, I believe….it took me awhile to get into the first one cause I’m not used to this genre, but once I did, it pulled me and hooked me. This is not a book I would have typically ever picked up and read if I didn’t have my Kindle…

What did you recently finish reading? “Space Junque”(Apocalypyto, #1) and “Spiderwork”(Apocalypto, #2), both by L.K. Rigel-These are both novellas, considered prequels to “Bleeder”, which I assume means you could just read the 3rd, but you would be very lost….The prequels really help you understand what’s going on in the 3rd

“11/22/63” by Stephen King-Stephen King at his best, if you ask me! I LOVED this book….I wanted to give it more than 5 stars on Goodreads. Within a couple hundred pages of the ending, I was really worried that he wasn’t going to be able to finish it without rushing through everything or making a sequel….at almost 900 pages, the fact that I was worried about him not finishing the story obviously clues you in on how much this story covers…there were seriously a million different ways he could have gone with the story line, but he ended up working things out nicely and neatly without any rushing and I was thrilled at how he did it…….It was an amazing book…..If you haven’t read it, you need to! Here is a premise for you: “If you could stop the assassination of J.F.K., would you? and how far would you go to do it?”

What do you think you’ll read next? I would love to give you a definite answer here, but I’m not sure…I might read another book on my Kindle, but I have about 30 saved on there, 99% of them free :)….I have 2 more books from Goodreads coming, but not sure WHEN and I have a few books I am wanting from the library that I might get sometime this week, so….I don’t know…you’ll have to wait until next week, I’m afraid!

What are you currently reading? Vampireville(Vampire Kisses, #3) by Ellen Schreiber-I didn’t have time to read much this week…these books are pretty short and easy reads though, so I was able to actually start and finish it!

What did you recently finish reading? Dance with a Vampire(Vampire Kisses #4) by Ellen Schreiber

What do you think you’ll read next? I plan to start 11/22/63 by Stephen King next, but not sure how much time I will have for reading over the holidays

What are you currently reading? Vampireville(Vampire Kisses, #3) by Ellen Schreiber-This is a young adult series that my niece left with me last year that I am reading before she comes down so I can return them to her…there are 7 in the series, I believe, but she only had the first 4 at the time to leave with me)

What did you recently finish reading? Vampire Kisses and Kissing Coffins(Vampire Kisses, #1 and #2) by Ellen Schreiber

Mennonite in a Little Black Dress by Rhoda Janzen-This was a really interesting read…it was a memoir by a lady who grew up in the religion and then moved on from it, but after her husband left her for a man and she was in a bad accident, she came back to her family during her recovery and talked about her past…

What do you think you’ll read next? I still have #4, Dance with a Vampire by Ellen Schreiber to read and then I plan to finally start 11/22/63 by Stephen King! 🙂

I have completed my updated reading challenge now! I started out with 50 books to read in a year and completed THAT in September so I changed it to 75 and I am now currently at 76 books read! SO I have completed both the original AND updated challenges now and even passed them! From now on, until the end of the year, everything I read is just bonus for my challenge! 🙂

What are you currently reading? “Mennonite in a Little Black Dress” by Rhoda Janzen (What can I say? I just like reading about people from different religions)

What did you recently finish reading? “My Horizontal Life” by Chelsea Handler (The only book I read this past week…it was a slow week for reading with Thanksgiving and everything!)

What do you think you’ll read next? I plan to read “11/22/63” by Stephen King next, but I have a few books I borrowed from one of my nieces I have to return at Christmas time and if my reading stays as slow as it has been this past week, I may have to wait for this over 800 page book!

Giving Thanks Day 30: This is the final day of my Giving Thanks section on my posts, but I fully intend to keep giving thanks for things in my life daily by taking time out of every day to reflect on things I am thankful for. Since this is the last day, I am giving thanks today, for everything in my life, both good AND bad, because it has all made me into who I am today. Without the negatives, I wouldn’t appreciate the positives as much as I do so I am thankful for them both and I am also thankful for everyone who is in my life and helped mold me into the person I am. If you’re a faithful reader of my blog, I want to also say a special Thanks to you because writing in my blog daily has been such a good thing for me and without people who faithfully read and comment, I might not have stuck with it as long as I have and come to realize what writing really means to me. This month has all been about thankfulness and tomorrow starts a month all about Giving. Giving without expecting anything in return. Giving of your time and love, not just of material things. May we all never forget what an importance giving to others is! 🙂
