Today’s Writing Prompt: MiddlePosted: 06 Aug 2013 04:49 AM PDT

Tell us about the middle of something, anything!

Being in the middle of a long weight loss journey is what I am.  When I think of being in the middle of it, I think of a plateau, where you are stuck in the middle of your journey.  Currently, I am in this plateau, and the only thing that keeps me going is thinking of climbing a mountain.  Climbing up a mountain is difficult, but once you reach the top, you can look back on all your progress and smile, while also looking below to the journey ahead.  You may have to walk on level ground for a bit before you reach the other side and start on the path down the mountain, but eventually you WILL get there.  It may be a rocky path down the slope of the mountain once you get there, but knowing the other side IS there and if you keep on walking, you will reach it…. that’s the incentive I need to keep pushing on! 🙂

Today’s Writing Prompt: Reinvention
If you had to do it all over again, how would you remake your life? Would you choose a different path?

First instinct here for many of us is to say yes.  Who wouldn’t want a redo? But then again, what if you had only ONE redo and the changes you made messed your life up more than fixing it? Who is to say that redoing something to make it better doesn’t turn out bad in the long run? As much as I would like to do some things differently or take back my mistakes, my life is the way it is today because of the past.  The good AND the bad all work out to make you who you are, and without all the mistakes and the different paths, my life might be far worse.  So no, I wouldn’t CHOOSE a different path, therefore, I have no answer for how I would remake my life. 🙂

Today’s Writing Prompt: First Things First

What is the first thing you do when you wake up every morning?  The first thing I do upon waking is slip on my flip flops and go to the bathroom.  I think that’s probably a very common answer for people when waking up…am I wrong?  The only thing that differs is maybe that I always slip on my flip flops before walking….I am flat footed and it hurts to walk barefoot.  I see people kicking off the shoes and walking barefoot like it’s the most comfortable thing in the world, but to me, it’s painful and I would much rather be wearing comfy flip flops! 🙂

Today’s Writing Prompt: Finish it already!Posted: 25 Jul 2013 03:30 AM PDT

What is something you just need a kick in the pants to finish?

I honestly can’t think of anything I need to fully finish…my first thought was cleaning the house, but that’s not exactly a task you can ever 100% finish.  Most of the things I am working on are a never ending task or have a set ending that I can’t exactly rush, so with that being said, I believe I will go and “finish” the book I have been reading….:) Time to get lost in a good book literally! “Lost in a good book” by Jasper Fforde 🙂

This is yesterday’s prompt, but I picked to answer it today. 🙂

Today’s Writing Prompt: Favorite Actor
Let us hear about your favorite actor! (Or the part he played in a movie you favor!)

My favorite actor that is still living is Johnny Depp.  I just think he is awesome, especially in funny roles, and he’s not bad to look at either! 🙂 I also love that he started out in a band with no interest in acting, and accidentally became a star through a chance audition with a friend for “Nightmare on Elm Street”. It’s awesome how things worked out!

Today’s Writing Prompt: InheritencePosted: 14 Jul 2013 03:00 AM PDT

Describe in detail one item that you would love to inherit from a relative, or that you have inherited.

I can’t remember any specific item that I have inherited yet, and I honestly can’t think of something I would LOVE to inherit.  When I think of inheriting things, I think of what has to happen for that to occur and that is death.  I don’t want anyone I love to die, even though it’s inevitable one of these days.  No matter what I DO inherit when relatives die, nothing will replace them in my life.  I would rather have my loved ones than any money or object they might leave behind.

Today’s Writing Prompt: Silver or Gold?
Which do you like best and why?

Although Gold is probably worth more, when it comes to jewelry, I prefer silver. I just like the look of it better.  Having said that, my wedding ring and engagement rings are both gold and I love them more than any of my jewelry.  My class ring was white gold, though….because I didn’t like the yellow gold look. 🙂

*P.S. I did this short & sweet post today because I did yesterday’s post first and it wiped me out inspiration wise for today!*

Today’s Writing Prompt: Compliment

Posted: 02 Jul 2013 03:00 AM PDT
What’s one thing you really like about yourself?

I really love this new found determination I have to change my lifestyle for the better, and never go back to the old lifestyle I had that was so unhealthy. It is showing me that the saying that you are stronger than you know is indeed very true. 🙂 And as an extra thing, I like my green eyes, and not just because my husband fell in love with them. 😉

{June 25, 2013}   One Minute Carnival Haiku

Today , I have combined the  One Minute Post Prompt with  Haiku Day  on the WordCount Blogathon and done a Carnival Haiku!

I don’t know why that first part was underlined or how to undo…so just overlook that little annoying detail and enjoy my haiku below! 🙂

OneMinuteWriterButton21. Read the daily writing prompt.

Today’s Writing Prompt: Carnival
Posted: 25 Jun 2013 03:30 AM PDT
Remember those carnivals you went to as a kid, or maybe you went on a date to one?! Did you win a big prize, or lose lots of hard earned money trying? Did you see something crazy?

wcToday is Haiku Day, one of the most popular days of the WordCount Blogathon, where everyone in the month-long blogging challenge is encouraged to write a haiku. In case you’re not familiar with it, a haiku is a Japanese poem form that consists of three lines with a total of 17 syllables: 5 syllables in the first line, 7 in the second, and 5 in the third. — Michelle

CARNIVAL HAIKUS

Texas heat burning

Under shade at Coin Dozer

Watch my money go

(I have always been addicted to this darn coin game where you shoot the coins in and try to knock off the cheap prizes!)

That first haiku was about a good memory….but I decided to do a second on a bad memory.

My 16th Birthday

Happiness turned to Heart Break

Carnival of Cheats

(This was based on seeing my boyfriend with another girl at the fair ON my 16th Birthday and being dumped.)

{June 23, 2013}   One Minute Flip-Flop

I have decided for now to discontinue my Spotlight Sunday posts for now.  I just haven’t felt like putting the time into doing well thought out posts every Sunday where I put something in the spotlight. This doesn’t mean it’s gone for good; it’s just gone for now.

OneMinuteWriterButton21. Read the daily writing prompt.

Today’s Writing Prompt: Flip Flops

In SIX words describe flip flops!
My favorite footwear all year round! 🙂
(I live in a part of Texas that rarely gets snow so this isn’t as crazy as it sounds!)

Worth the trouble

“He couldn’t see why people made such a fuss about people eating their silly old fruit anyway, but life would be a lot less fun if they didn’t. And there was never an apple, in Adam’s opinion, that wasn’t worth the trouble you got into for eating it.” ~from Good Omens
