Today’s Writing Prompt: Priceless (Wednesday the 14th’s prompt)

What’s something wonderful you have in life that can’t be bought, sold, or traded for money?  I don’t think I even need a whole minute to answer this. Family. One word is all it takes here.  Having a family you love and care about is worth more than any money in the world, and when I say family, I am including the great friends in my life who are just like Family to me, as well. 🙂

{August 15, 2013}   One Minute Predictions

I know I do these one minute posts a lot lately, but now that I am actually “working”, and working ON a computer for hours…it’s hard to make time and motivation for posting intellectual posts. 😦OneMinuteWriterButton21. Read the daily writing prompt.

Today’s Writing Prompt: Second Sight

Posted: 15 Aug 2013 03:00 AM PDT

Have you ever consulted a psychic, medium, fortune teller, astrologer, or so on? Did they make any predictions for you? Were they accurate?
I have never consulted any one of these before.  I think it’s a waste of money, almost in the way that gambling a lot seems to be a waste.  I think there MIGHT be some people out there that have some powers of prediction, but I honestly think they are few and far between.  I think most of it is over rated.  Having said that, I love getting fortune cookies and I love reading my horoscope, but I take both things with a grain of salt.  I like them more for the entertainment than for the fact that they might actually be true.  If they turn out to be true, then cool, but I do not base my life around them. 🙂
I HAVE seen fortunes and/or horoscopes be accurate, but a lot of times most of the accuracy is due to the fact that the writers write them as to pretty much fit every person in almost any situation.  There have been a few that have been frightfully accurate, but that is rare.

This is yesterday’s prompt, but I picked to answer it today. 🙂

Today’s Writing Prompt: Favorite Actor
Let us hear about your favorite actor! (Or the part he played in a movie you favor!)

My favorite actor that is still living is Johnny Depp.  I just think he is awesome, especially in funny roles, and he’s not bad to look at either! 🙂 I also love that he started out in a band with no interest in acting, and accidentally became a star through a chance audition with a friend for “Nightmare on Elm Street”. It’s awesome how things worked out!

Today’s Writing Prompt: Silver or Gold?
Which do you like best and why?

Although Gold is probably worth more, when it comes to jewelry, I prefer silver. I just like the look of it better.  Having said that, my wedding ring and engagement rings are both gold and I love them more than any of my jewelry.  My class ring was white gold, though….because I didn’t like the yellow gold look. 🙂

*P.S. I did this short & sweet post today because I did yesterday’s post first and it wiped me out inspiration wise for today!*

Today’s Writing Prompt: Compliment

Posted: 02 Jul 2013 03:00 AM PDT
What’s one thing you really like about yourself?

I really love this new found determination I have to change my lifestyle for the better, and never go back to the old lifestyle I had that was so unhealthy. It is showing me that the saying that you are stronger than you know is indeed very true. 🙂 And as an extra thing, I like my green eyes, and not just because my husband fell in love with them. 😉

{June 23, 2013}   One Minute Flip-Flop

I have decided for now to discontinue my Spotlight Sunday posts for now.  I just haven’t felt like putting the time into doing well thought out posts every Sunday where I put something in the spotlight. This doesn’t mean it’s gone for good; it’s just gone for now.

Today’s Writing Prompt: Flip Flops

In SIX words describe flip flops!
My favorite footwear all year round! 🙂
(I live in a part of Texas that rarely gets snow so this isn’t as crazy as it sounds!)

Today’s Writing Prompt: Self Control

You wake up one morning to find out you have suddenly developed a disorder that takes away all your impulse control. Suddenly, you just can’t control yourself.
How would this get you into trouble? Are you more likely to spend too much, overeat, flirt with the wrong people, drink to excess? Something even stranger?

Well, I already procrastinate, as evidenced by this late night post, so I can’t even imagine how out of control that would get! I’ve been trying to lose weight for over 10 months by eating healthier and I think I have done that for long enough that I wouldn’t necessarily overeat, but I could see myself giving into every single craving I had. After a while of that, I would probably get back into the unhealthy eating habit and just eat whatever I felt like. 😦 Lastly, taking away MY impulse control would mean giving into the impulse to do just do what I WANT and not do anything productive whatsoever, so I would probably read a LOT because I just love it so much. As bad habits go, I think reading all the time would be pretty mild though. 😉

No Spotlight Sunday post this week, but Happy Father’s Day!

Today’s Writing Prompt: Weariness

What wears you out and drags you down the most?
Depression.  Nothing can wear you out both physically, emotionally and mentally the way that depression does.  It can also drag you down to the bottom of the barrel at times when you should feel extremely happy. The fact that others look at you as crazy at times for feeling depressed when it’s a happy occasion just makes things even worse. It’s kind of an endless cycle and it sucks. There’s other things I could have answered here, but the only honest, truthful answer for me is to say depression…other things might lead to it in the end, but once you get there, nothing wears you out more. 😦
