Yep…you read that right….the author of Five Question Friday has decided to say goodbye to it…at least temporarily, possibly permanently.  I am bummed because I enjoyed answering the questions plus knowing I already had something to post on Fridays.  I am not sure what I will be posting on Fridays from now on, but I am SURE I want to replace it with something I can do EVERY Friday.  With the life becoming busier, I just feel better about having my Monday, Wednesday, and Friday posts figured out.  So far, I am considering doing “Friday Finds” where you tell about a book you added to your “To Read” List recently, whether you purchased it or not, but seeing as my Wednesday posts are already book-related, I am just not 100% sure yet.  I would like to find something just like 5QF, but I don’t really know of anything, so…..I am going to ask for advice, please! Do you know of any other weekly posts on other blogs that are like Five Question Friday? Of course, I mean ones that allow the public to join in.  If not, do you have any other ideas for a Friday post every week? Have you heard of a weekly post someone else is doing that could be fun for me to do as well? Please feel free to give me any ideas you have…no idea is too crazy…and hopefully, I will be able to pick one of them before next week when I reveal on the 16th of August what my new Fridays will be! 🙂 I can’t wait to see! 🙂

On to the questions!

1. What is on your Summer 2013 bucket list? I don’t have a Summer Bucket List…I don’t even have a regular Bucket List, although I have been considering making one recently

2. What is the most useless item on your child’s back to school list? NA…I’m trying to remember my old shopping lists, and I honestly can’t remember anything that I would say was useless

3. What is the one reality TV show that makes no sense to you? idk…I’ll just say “Jersey Shore”…never really watched it, but it just seems completely stupid…

4. What is one movie you can watch over and over again? Why? The first movie that pops into my head is “Labryinth”…I love that movie.  I used to watch it all the time when I was little. I could definitely watch it again and again

5. What’s your favorite back to school tradition? Back when I went to school, it was the back to school clothes shopping…I enjoyed getting to pick out new outfits for school.  I kind of miss having an excuse to get new clothes every year, although now that I am losing weight, I have excuses to get new stuff! 🙂

On to the questions!

Happy Anniversary to my husband! 🙂

1. What is your best secret cleaning tip?  How about YOU give me yours? Cause I hate cleaning house…I can do an adequate job when I want to, but I seriously dislike it…If anyone LOVES cleaning, you are welcome to come clean my house all you want! 🙂

2. What is your favorite food to snack on during movie night? If I am at the Theatre and am going to eat anything, then popcorn, but I try to be good and just drink water or a Diet Coke…at home, if I was going to be naughty, pizza lol….but that’s rare anymore, so I just eat my regularly scheduled meal if it happens to coincide with the movie or just drink water and watch…boring, but truth 🙂

3. If it was up to you, what would you have named the royal baby? NOT George…I love the middle name Alexander though…I would have picked THAT as the first name instead …Alexander instead of the first name George

4. If you could be any Disney character who would you choose? I’ve always been a huge fan of Aurora from Sleeping Beauty because of her name and her singing voice.  The song “Once upon a Dream” from that movie is SO beautiful! I don’t know that I would like to sleep for 50 years and wake up to my old family and friends being dead or close to it, though 😦  There’s positives and negatives to each character….and I am not sure why I am thinking just princesses LOL….I will just pick the one I think is more like me and my life…Belle from “Beauty and the Beast”…she has her head in a book constantly, which I love and it is so me.  She has had some bad in her past, but made it through….she falls in love with a Beast and tames him, then she falls in love.  I fell in love with a Bipolar man that can act like a beast at times (LOL), but I have tried to tame him…and I did enough where we got married, so hey…why not? 🙂 I am Belle!

5. What’s the most important part of a healthy relationship?  Honesty!  Seems so cliche, but so true!  NO relationship can last without honesty.  You have to be honest with each other or there’s no trust.  You also have to be honest with yourself about the realities of marriage.  So many young girls get married nowadays with this fantasy of what marriage is and when that fantasy shatters(which I’m sorry, but it will…anyone you says otherwise is dishonest!), then they assume the marriage failed because they picked the wrong one, they divorce, and inevitably try to reclaim the fantasy…..Not to say every divorce is caused this way, but too many are.  NO relationship is going to be a fairy tale.  No relationship is going to be perfect.  Relationships are a roller coaster and you have to put in work to make them WORK…They are NOT easy, but if you put in the effort, you will hopefully be rewarded. 🙂

On to the questions!

Happy Anniversary to my husband! 🙂

1. What is one thing you have too many of in your house?  You can never have too many books, but others would probably say I have too many of them…lol…and I have clutter, which is 99% books or Teddy Bear figurines, etc. I can never have too many of either!

2. Did anything go not quite as planned on your wedding day? Mainly the lighters not working during the lighting of the unity candle, but one of our guests who was a smoker had a lighter and came up and helped them light them!

3. What is your favorite summer smoothie recipe? I do not have one….never been a big smoothie drinker and when I’m hot, I don’t exactly want smoothies…I would want snow cones, lemonade, or an ice cold soda/water.  I try to stick with the ice cold water now, though 😉

4. What is the weather like where you are? Right now, it is currently 76 degrees at 10:30 at  night.  Lately the forecast has been showing it to get up into the mid 90’s everyday, but we have been having at least a little rain everyday, so it hasn’t actually been getting up that warm, maybe high 8’s to low 90’s…definitely a lot cooler than it usually is at this time of year in East Texas !

5. What is your favorite book to read to your kids?  I don’t have kids yet, but I plan to read my future kids the book called, “I’ll love you forever”….not sure who wrote it, but I remember hearing it somewhere before and just loving it.  “I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living, my baby you’ll be.” 🙂

On to the questions!

1. Would you rather pay for house cleaner or spa day?  I am feeling deja vu with this question…I think it’s been used in the past…as in maybe last week’s post when I used a post from 2010…lol…and my answer is still house cleaner over spa day 🙂

2. Who plans what gifts you get for holidays, you or your spouse? Both…I tell him some stuff I want and he usually picks a few things I didn’t ask for as well

3. How many hours of sleep do you get? Do you need more? Most of the time, I usually get 8…not always but at least 8 most of the time….and it only feels like enough when I can sleep in….if I HAVE to be up at a certain time, I could get 10 hours of sleep and it still wouldn’t feel like enough

4. Do you like your hair long or short? Long….because my hair is naturally curly, therefore, short hair translates to an afro on me…and yea, not a great look!

5. When was the last time you were pulled over and what was it for? The last time I got pulled over was the one and only time I got pulled over. It was in another town and I was driving with my Mom, my husband who was then my boyfriend, and his Mom.  We were heading to the venue I would later pick as our wedding spot, and I was busy talking and didn’t notice the speed limit change drastically. My husband told me there was a cop and the speed limited had changed and I automatically slowed down, but it was too late.  He pulled me over. I was bawling and I told him that I wasn’t from there and was on the way to check out a wedding venue.  He ended up just giving me a warning…maybe because I wasn’t from around there and maybe because he felt sorry for me when I cried…who knows? But it definitely shook me up…anytime I see cop cars around me, I automatically tense up and start to check and see what I may be doing wrong….which tends to be nothing, but I still freak out anyways.

On to the questions!

This is the second week in the row that there wasn’t a 5QF posted on the main site. 😦 I am not sure what this means, and I fear I may have to come up with something else on Fridays if she doesn’t go back to posting them…But for today, I am doing an old one I haven’t done that was originally posted on June 25th of 2010! 🙂

1. Do you know how to play a musical instrument? Not fluently…can I use that word here, or does it only count for languages? Unless you count the human Voice as an instrument, the only thing I can play at ALL is the piano, but not very well LOL

I took 2 years in college, but I just didn’t like to practice….I always had a good memory so I just memorized the pieces I had to play for recital, which didn’t help in learning to read music and be able to set my fingers to the keys and play anything fast. I CAN read the music and play, but it would be like bing, hit a key…..bing, hit a key…..with like 30 seconds between LOL

2. What is your pet peeve while driving? People that cut me off, People that don’t use their turn signals, Rude people….Crazy drivers….I could just go on and on here!

3. Would you rather have a housekeeper or unlimited spa services? Forget the spa, I would take the housekeeper! Who needs a spa? I could just lay back and read all day…that’s MY idea of a spa 😉

4. Is there a song that you hear that will take you back to the moment, like a junior high or high school dance? I never had a Junior High or High School dance, but there’s tons of songs that bring me back to being that age…..none of them necessarily bring to mine school, though…those years of school weren’t that great so I prefer to remember times with my friends and family instead.  Pretty much any song from back in the “day” brings back memories, especially if it’s the Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys, Nsync, Britney Spears(old stuff), etc. Yes, I was a Bubblegum Pop kid….and if the songs come on, I still sing to them…:p Leave me alone! LOL

5. What song best represents your life right now? Ooo, good question! I actually have to think a bit here….”Things are looking up” by Ella Fitzgerald 🙂  Just because life looks like it’s taking a good turn…I’ve been losing weight, I’m in Training for a career that I am truly enjoying, I’m married to my wonderful husband….now all I need is to get on with starting a family! 😉

Things are looking up

If I should suddenly start to sing
Or stand on my head or anything
Don’t think that I’ve lost my senses
It’s just that my happiness finally commences

The long long ages of dull despair
Are turning into thin air
And it seems that suddenly I’ve
Become the happiest girl alive

Things are looking up
I’ve been looking the landscape over
And it’s covered with 4 leaf clover
Oh things are looking up
Since love looked up at me

Bitter was my cup
But no more will I be the mourner
For I’ve certainly turned the corner
Oh things are looking up
Since love looked up at me

See the sunbeams
Every one beams
Just because of you
Love’s in session
And my depression
Is unmistakably through

Things are looking up
It’s a great little world we live in
Oh I’m happy as a pup
Since love looked up at me

(bridge)

See the sunbeams
Every one beams
Just because of you
Love’s in session
And my depression
Is unmistakably through

Things are looking up
It’s a great little world we live in
Oh I’m happy as a pup
Since love looked up at me

On to the questions!

There wasn’t a 5QF on the site today, so instead I am doing an old 5QF from June 22nd of last year. 🙂

1. What do you keep a stock pile of? Books…I have piles of those literally in every room LOL

2. If Ben & Jerry asked you to invent an ice cream, what would it be? Any of the normal kinds of ice cream that I already like…but one that has 0 calories and 0 carbs, but still takes the same…yea, I am dreaming, but it would be nice! 😉

3. How do you blow off steam? Just getting away from things that stress me and doing things that relax me…like reading, listening to music, watching guilty pleasure tv, etc.

4. What would you do if you had an hour to yourself anywhere within a ten mile radius of your home…no kids, no hubby, just you? I had pretty much a whole week to myself this past week while my hubby was dogsitting/house sitting for a friend and I did pretty much the same as I do when he is here…only difference is maybe that when I was reading, I didn’t get interrupted as much, but otherwise not really that different…and I missed him. Glad he is back home!

5. When you were 16, what was your curfew in the summertime? I don’t really remember EVER having a curfew at any time. During the school year, my Mom would sometimes tell me I needed to go to bed if I was still up and she thought I needed to get to bed, but she never really enforced a specific time that I remember. I was pretty good about putting myself to sleep at a decent time because I knew I needed enough sleep to function the next day. During the summer, I would often stay up all night and sleep late in the day and my Mom never really cared. As long as I was awake on the days I needed to be if we were going somewhere, it didn’t really bother her how late I decided to stay up. 🙂

On to the questions!

1. Have you ever been robbed and how did you handle it? I have never personally been robbed, but my Mom has had her wallet stolen two different times when I was with her. 😦 One time was especially vivid to me because me , my mom, my oldest sister and her kids were all at Sea World having fun. It was late in the afternoon and we were still looking forward to having more fun. We all stopped at a bathroom and my Mom realized she had left her wallet in the stall. She had just come out of it and saw a lady go in with a stroller and her baby, so my mom went up to the stall and told her that she left her wallet in there and asked if she could give it to her. Well, the lady said she didn’t see a wallet…. She ended up coming out of there and walking right past us and sure enough, no wallet in there anymore, but it HAD been in there and my mom knew she left it right after she walked out and this lady was the ONLY one to go in there since then. I mean, it was literally that little of time between! So….a wallet with $250 and basically all the rest of 6 people’s spending money gone. 😦 We walked around looking at the top of trashcans to see if she got rid of it after stealing the money since it had pictures in and we DID found the wallet…..The money was gone and the cards, but the pictures were there….All my mom had on her was some of those little stacks you get that you can put pennies, nickels, or quarters in for arcades and stuff? So we had to leave early, but we used the quarters to eat ice cream at McDonald’s….all these years later and I still remember bawling about it and being SO upset and wanting to run up to the lady and yell at her….but my Mom wouldn’t let me….I don’t understand how people can be so evil!

2. What do you do at a kids function when Parents don’t behave? Meaning they are the ones being impatient and rude. I don’t have kids, but I have been to kid’s birthday parties before. I can’t remember parents really misbehaving at any that I have been to, but I’m sure they do. I think adults can act like babies more than little kids sometimes!
3. Have you heard of a potty party? Will you/have you had one for your child(ren)? Never heard of this…is it like a party for your child once they become potty trained? Because I don’t think some HUGE celebration is really necessary. Your child isn’t going to remember it anyways. I DO like the idea of giving your kids stickers or a treat when they go potty, though to encourage them.

4. How young do you think kids should be when they start taking swim lessons? They have little infants take swimming classes…Supposedly, it’s easier when they are itty bitty, so I think whatever age they will start classes for is good….I personally do not know how to swim and deep water scares me, so I would like to put my future children in swimming lessons when they are young so they won’t have that fear, but also for the same reason my non-swimming sister put her kids in them. If MY kids know how to swim, I don’t have to worry as much about them accidentally drowning in a swimming pool and then me being the one to save them when I don’t know what I’m doing!

5. What makes you happy? So, so much…this answer could go forever! My family, my husband, my nieces, my nephews, my best friends and my blogging buddies, my blog, reading, music, teddy bears, dancing, shopping for books…..and finally getting past a level I’m stuck on on Candy Crush Saga! LOL…These are just a few!

On to the questions!

1. What do you appreciate most about your children’s Dad?  No kids YET but I’m married so I know who my future children’s DAD will be….When I think of the future and having kids, I think of how my husband will be such a good Dad when it comes to being able to really act like a kid himself and play around and be silly…I think I will appreciate that when I need someone to keep the kids entertained while I’m working 🙂

2. Do you always wear your seat belt? Yes, I do because I am usually always in the driver’s seat….on the rare occasion when I ride in the back seat, I try to but back when the seat belt didn’t fit…I just held it across me. This was only cause I didn’t really have any other option, though.

3. Do you dream and do you remember them? I think we ALL dream, but we just don’t always remember it.  Lately, I have been remembering them more because I have had some pretty insane dreams these past couple of weeks. Maybe it’s because of how much busier my life has been…idk…but they have been weird!

4. What is one thing you swore you’d never let your kids do before having them, that you have now changed your ways about? NA….I will have to get back to you in the future.

5. If you could be granted one wish, what would it be? I’m going with the wish I have been wishing for so long now and it may seem selfish, but it’s at least honest.  I would wish to be pregnant with my first child. 🙂

This 5 Question Friday was brought to you by:

On to the questions!

1. What is an acceptable age for girls to start dating? I don’t have kids yet, but I think it DOES matter on the maturity level of the kid a bit. I never dated until way into college myself. I think I will say around 16 maybe, for like a double date or somewhere with other people. Not necessarily completely alone somewhere.  Dates with some form of supervision at least indirectly, if not directly. When the kid becomes an adult, they can go on dates as they choose.

2. Do you think your kids should have summer homework? Another not applicable question for me…I personally never had Summer Homework, although I kind of wish I had reading lists because it would have been an excuse to read more! 🙂 As for homework in general, no…I don’t think they should. It takes the fun out of summer. If they worked around to year round school with more frequent breaks, but shorter ones, I think THAT could help solve the not being able to remember dilemma kids have. I know that’s not a popular thought for kids because I can’t honestly say I would have liked that idea myself, but….I think it would help.

3. Would you prefer to live without AC or heat? If I lived somewhere where the temperature dropped into the negatives all the time, I might feel differently, but since where I lives rarely gets below 30 degrees…..I would say I could live without the heat. Summer temps here are over 100 a lot while in the winter, we rarely even use our heat, so….I definitely could NOT live without the AC!

4. What the worst thing about staying in a hotel? (Besides not being with your family) Well, most of the time you never sleep as good as you do in your OWN bed…even if it’s a fancy hotel with an awesome one. Having to wait forever on elevators OR climb tons of stairs isn’t much fun either….I think the good parts outweigh the bad, though.

5. So, do your kids really get “104 days of summer vacation”? (Bonus points for those of you that get this reference!) I don’t get this reference…maybe I would if I had kids. I would love for someone to explain it to me, though! As for my answer, even though I don’t have kids yet, I have heard schools around here are going into June and returning in August sometime. I’ve never been amazing at Math but I don’t think that’s 104 days…..maybe more like 60-70. 😉
