{March 16, 2013}   Very Inspiring Blogger Award

Thanks to “Ginger” at Confessions of a Preacher’s Daughter for awarding me with this award! It means a lot to me that you thought of me! I greatly appreciate it!

inspiring-blogger-awardThe rules of this award are pretty similar to the others:

1.) Display the award logo on your blog.
2.) Link back to the person who nominated you.
3.) State 7 things about yourself.
4.) Nominate 15 bloggers for this award.
5.) Notify those bloggers of the nomination by linking to one of their specific posts so that they get notified by ping back.

Seven things about me:

  1. You already know I love to read, but you may or may not know that I read Ebooks for Innovative Online Book Tours for free sometimes and do Amazon and Goodreads reviews in exchange 🙂
  2. This award means more to me than other awards just because of the name of it. I think to ever be called Inspiring is such an incredible honor and compliment.
  3. If I’m going to be gone for a long time, I like to take both my Kindle AND a book, that way if I’m using my Kindle and the power runs out, I always have a back up. 🙂
  4. I like to use survey sites when I have time to earn money towards Amazon gift cards. Right now, I am trying to save up the money from gift cards until I have enough to buy the Amazon Kindle Fire HD 16 GB…so I have more room for books.
  5. When I was younger, I use to make mix tapes from my CD’s by playing parts of the music, pausing and then switching cd’s back and forth so that I had my own mixes of several songs in one.
  6. I also made tapes where I recorded myself being a DJ talking and introducing the songs. (I still have some of these tapes)
  7. My husband’s wedding band has “Sharon and Chad Forever” engraved inside.

Inspiring Bloggers I nominate:

  1. Mirth and Motivation
  2. Smile, Kiddo
  3. Knotrune
  4. Barnbees
  5. Should be reading
  6. The Shyness Project
  7. Lafemmeroar
  8. I choose how I will spend the rest of my life
  9. I shall be a toad

I know it said 15 but I’m a rule breaker! 🙂

{March 14, 2013}   Liebster Award Nomination

A few days ago, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I was nominated for an award by someone new to my blog. Through perusing her page, I figured out her name was Christina and her page is about her eDiets journey. So I want to thank her for giving me this award and stopping by my blog! 🙂

liebsterawardThe Liebster award is given to up and coming bloggers.

What is a Liebster? The meaning: Liebster is German and means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome.

HERE ARE THE RULES FOR RECEIVING THIS AWARD:
1.Each person must post 11 things about themselves.
2.Answer the questions that the tagger set for you plus create 11 questions for the people you’ve tagged to answer.
3.Choose 11 people and link them in your post.
4.Go to their page and tell them.
5.No tag backs!

11 Things about me:

  1. I have gone from drinking nothing but Mountain Dew to drinking water all the time now for the past almost 8 months.
  2. I’m going to be a Great Aunt for the 3rd time soon to my first Great Niece which I am super excited about!
  3. It’s hard for me to think of 11 things that my blog followers don’t already know about me!
  4. I’m a die hard Linkin Park Fan….have been since their first album.
  5. Unless I really love something, I’m a big procrastinator…
  6. 5 is my lucky number 🙂
  7. I’ve never paid more than $25 for a purse but I am currently in love with a $50 Betsey Johnson purse that I can’t get my mind off and am seriously considering purchasing it tomorrow…
  8. I feel really guilty that I have so many followers and not enough time to reciprocate in reading ALL their blogs too 😦
  9. My biggest dream right now is to be pregnant before I turn 30…which is in September…and this is my first time publicly stating this!
  10. My body feels like I’m older than 30 but my inner self feels closer to 25 still.
  11. I’ve been a Lodge Website Administrator for our Area’s Woodmen of the World Lodge for over 3 years now and was just given the added job of being their Social Media Coordinator as well….both Volunteer Positions…

11 Questions

(I was not given 11 specific questions so I’m just going to answer the 11 that my nominator answered, I suppose!)

1.What was the name of your first childhood pet? Snowball…a bunny
2.Where was your favorite vacation memory? Devil’s Back Bend(I forget the exact location but close to San Antonio, Texas) on our honeymoon…I enjoyed the drive and the beautiful view as well as seeing an old couple cross the street holding hands to go check it out 🙂
3.Who is your celebrity crush? Johnny Depp!
4.What is the one addiction that you have that not many people know about? Maybe reality shows? LOL
5.If you could move anywhere in the world, where would it be? Nowhere unless I can have my family with me…I’m just not willing to be far away from my Mom
6.What came first: the chicken or the egg; why? The Chicken cause God made the animals first, I guess
7.Windows or Apple; why? I’ve always had Windows so I’m going to go with that
8.What was the first CD you ever purchased? I have no idea…first CD I got was Aqua-“Aquarium”…the group that sang the song, “Barbie Girl”? LOL
9.What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done? Do you have all day?
10. What did you want to become when you where young?  A professional singer and to be honest, I still LOVE singing but I just doubt I want to try for it as a career the way I did when I was younger
11.What is the one goal you have for 2013? Besides blogging daily, I just want to continue on my weight loss journey and work on the #9 from the 11 things about me 🙂

I’m afraid I’m going to break the rules with this next part because I don’t have 11 people really to pass this on to…I’m bad about keeping up with reading other blogs so instead of 11, I’m just going to pass this on to a few blogs that might not really be NEW blogs but I think their writing makes them “up and comers” in the world of writing! 🙂

My people I nominated are:

Dayle

Marilyn

Mr. Hook

3 is definitely smaller than 11….but all 3 of these blogs show great writing in their own ways and deserve this award! 🙂

P.S. The day after getting this award, I was given another award by someone else and I will be doing a post on that one this Saturday!

{January 26, 2013}   Family of Bloggers Award!

blogfamilyIt’s been so long since anyone has given me an award on my blog that I was pleasantly surprised when I was nominated by Nancy Barnes over at http://beesatc.wordpress.com.

Now that I have accepted this lovely award, there are some things I am required to do!

First, I must tell the attributes I bring to the family of bloggers!

F=Funny posts (I hope some of my posts make others laugh!)

A=An Abundance of Honesty(My blog is the REAL me and I’m very open on here in order to let others know who I really am and hopefully relate!)

M=Marriage Tales! (As a married woman of 3 1/2 years who writes about her life, stories of matrimonial bliss and not so bliss are never far away!)

I=Intelligent Thought (I’m kind of aiming high here but I hope SOME of my posts make people think)

L=Literature (I’m not only a Writer, I’m a Reader and I share my love of it with everyone!)

Y=Yawning Unworthy Posts (I sincerely hope none of my posts EVER make people yawn!)

Now I am nominating these 4 people for this award. These are 4 people that I have been following for awhile and though, I’m not as on top of reading all their posts as I ONCE was, I think they are great candidates of this award and I hope they accept it!

#1-I Shall Be a Toad-I nominate this blogger because she’s not afraid to think differently than everybody else and every family needs an outside of the box thinker!

#2-Perfecting Motherhood-I nominate this blogger because of her talents in not only writing but also photography..and well, she also writes about motherhood and every family needs a mother, right?

#3-Growing younger each day-I nominate THIS blogger because as much as I have gotten behind on her blog, she still pops in regularly to cheer me on in my weight loss journey! Constant encouragement and a young soul are great things for a family!

#4-The Shyness Project-I nominate this blogger for her bravery in overcoming shyness so much since the moment I first started and THEN regularly read her blog. Bravery is important for a family AND she could also teach everyone to swing dance! 🙂

If they choose to accept this award, there are 4 things they must do:

1) Pay credit to the one who nominated you.

2) Place a link to the one who nominated you on your awards page. (I don’t have an awards page but I guess I will make one. I think you could add them to your blogroll instead but I don’t have one of those either LOL)

3.) Use the anagram of the word “FAMILY” to tell us the attributes YOU bring to the family of bloggers!

4) Nominate at least 4 other people to be in your family of bloggers and notify them of their nomination.

And…that’s all, folks! 🙂

*Thanks again to Nancy Barnes for nominating me!*

{April 10, 2011}   Stylish Blogger Award

Thanks to Brittany220 for the Stylish Blogger Award!

http://theshynessproject.wordpress.com/

I am now supposed to write 7 things about myself and pass this honor on to 15 other bloggers as well as share the good news with them.

First, my 7 things:

1) On my left foot, the toe next to my baby toe is the same size it was when I was 3 years old. Why? Because a can fell on it and somehow it must have stunted the growth for it hasn’t grown since. It doesn’t really bother me though as my favorite type of shoe is the flip flop. I think my little toe is cute and it’s an interesting unique part of me!

2) I sleep with the same pillow I did as a baby…My mom even has a picture of me as a newborn sleeping in the middle of it. As a little girl, I shared a bed with my mom and my pillow always smelled like White Diamonds perfume, which my mom wore all the time. Therefore, I always took my pillow with me everywhere because it reminded me of my mom. I even took it across country with me on my Missions trip. I still sleep with it because it’s comfy and what can I say? It’s a bit of nostalgia too!

3) For those unaware, I also have a teddy bear blog on here but unfortunately I haven’t worked on it in awhile….I plan to eventually get back to it, though. If you would like to check out past posts, here’s the link! http://projectteddybear.wordpress.com/

4) I have 8 nieces, 1 nephew and 2 great nephews who I love to pieces! I have been an aunt since I was 2 years and 2 months old.

5) I didn’t officially start driving until the age of 23. I took driver’s ed and had my permit at 16, I also had my license at 18 but I didn’t feel ready or comfortable to drive yet at that age. I LOVE to drive now and can’t believe I didn’t want to back then but at the same time, I feel like it was the best decision for me. I knew myself enough to know I wasn’t fully ready and I held myself back until I was.

6) My engagement ring was my husband’s great grandma’s ring. I still feel honored that his mom chose to give me the ring and I love the ring more than I could have loved any store bought ring out there of any price. I’ve always loved vintage jewelry so the fact that my engagement ring is vintage AND also was worn by a woman in a great loving marriage AND chosen to pass to me is just so special. So thankful that my mom-in-law and grandma-in-law liked me enough to share it with me!

7) My wedding dress cost just over $500, including alterations. I bought it from an online site where I automatically fell in love with it and had a family friend alter it A LOT and only charge me $20 for it. The second I tried it on, I KNEW it was the perfect dress and I felt like a million dollars on my day even though I paid nowhere near that much. Apparently, to look at a dress and automatically have it be YOUR dress is pretty rare….but hey, my middle sister picked hers out of a magazine in the 80’s, saved the money and went and bought it from a boutique..maybe it runs in the family….

And now for the awesome blogs that I will be passing this honor on to!

Drum roll, please! Be sure to check these blogs out!
