{February 1, 2013}   Five Question Friday for February 1st,2013

Welcome!

As always, you may answer these questions in your own post or in the comments section!

This 5 Question Friday was brought to you by:

On to the questions!

1. What is your favorite book to read with your kids? I’m not a parent yet so I obviously don’t have a favorite but there’s a book called ‘I love you forever” that I would love to read to my future children. 🙂 I love the line, “I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, As long as I’m living, My baby you’ll be” 🙂

2. After having kids, what body part has changed the most? I have not had the opportunity to see! LOL

3. Would you ever go back to college? What would you study? Yes, I would but at this point of my life, I really don’t want to….I went for about 7 years already working on an Associate’s. I got almost done with a Music Degree and then switched to Theatre so I have an Associate of Arts in Theatre with a Music Minor. Unfortunately, the type of jobs I’m looking for now don’t sound very relevant to my degree but the thing that NON-Theatre Majors don’t realize is that a Theatre Major is NOT an easy major and you learn much more from it than you might think. I had to not only learn lines but learn how to analyze plays, get into the mind of my character much like you do in psychology and put yourself in the same place, I learned to be on time or you’re out, I learned how to tell a person’s age from facial appearance and therefore, how to make myself or someone else look younger or older with make-up as well as various other techniques. I learned how to do basic sewing (though I hate it) and how to keep inventory for a costume shop. I learned how to keep a make up station clean and organized. I learned how to put aside sickness and bad days and plunge yourself into your work. I learned how to put scenery together, how to use different equipment in the scene shop, how to varnish wood, how to paint just about anything, how to take down a stage light, open it up, put a new color slide(forgive me for forgetting the terminology here) and put the light back up. I learned tool names and how to use them. I learned how to be a sound designer and how to do the basics on a sound board. I learned about teamwork in both acting AND doing backstage crew work. I learned not to rely on a specific word or cue for your next line cause sometimes people forget and ad lib even though they shouldn’t. And…I could go on and on. Basically, my point is that being a Theatre Major is about so much more than reading plays and memorizing lines!

4. How do you close a phone call? Bye, bye bye or other? I just say bye….LOL

5. What is the one food that will always be your “cheat food” on a diet? I refuse to call it cheat food OR Cheat Days….When you call it ‘Cheating” even IF it’s allowed, it just makes you really guilty feeling. I try to now ask myself if I crave something that’s not healthy, “Do you REALLY want this?” And then I really think about if the feeling the food will give me for a short time is worth how I will feel later….not guilty but a lot of times after eating unhealthy, my body will not work as well or my mood might be down so I really take some time, think about it, wait for awhile and if I STILL crave it, I’ll eat a little bit. Most of the time, I decided I either don’t really want it or the craving passes so I figure the few times it doesn’t pass won’t hurt me. 🙂 I want to be a healthier person but we are all Human and to make everything you love Forbidden just doesn’t work out in the long run, at least for not a majority of people!
