{August 10, 2012}   Week 3 Results/Update

My weight loss results MAIN update will be moving to Mondays, starting THIS Monday. I have decided to do this since my check in day with the doctor from now on will most likely be on a Monday and I don’t want to weigh on a Friday AND a Monday every other week. Also, Mondays get a bad rep. anyways so I figured this will make my Mondays something to look forward to! As this Monday will technically be a couple days into Week 4, each week will be labeled with “Start of Week___ Results”.

I HAVE weighed today and I am down to 354, so one more pound down, 14 in total! I like the number 14 better than the number 1! LOL

I WILL be weighing again Monday morning and letting you know if anything else has changed, but this is the last Friday I am planning to weigh on so be looking forward to the updates on Monday! This Monday, I have jury duty so I can’t be sure how early or late I will be posting but it will be there sometime.

Something I have actually thought about for awhile is doing measurements too. I know this is a good way to notice changes you might not otherwise notice, so last week I went out and bought me a tape measure. From looking at a fellow blogger’s weight loss ideas, I decided I will take my measurements once a month, unlike the weight that I check weekly or bi-weekly. Obviously measurements don’t change drastically weekly but maybe by my first month of doing them, I will notice some big changes! I am NOT posting my measurements online….it was hard enough to be so open about my weight publicly and I have decided to keep those private. BUT I will be sure to say how many overall inches I have lost monthly so those who are cheering for me can see that! 🙂

Those on my Facebook might have noticed I have posted some photos of a few of my meals here and there and have been posting about doing some Zumba on the Wii for exercise. Yesterday, I did a workout program on Just Dance 2 where you pick from 3 programs and gain so many sweat points daily. The first program is mild and is supposed to be 1 song a day, The second, the tough program is 3 songs and the third, Intensive, is 6 a day. Well, apparently THAT applies to if you do perfectly on sweat points per song because I ended up doing 6 songs on the tough program to get my 1000 sweat points! Oh, and that was after I did the one song on the mild program to see how it worked. I figured mild was too easy, so I decided to do the tough program cause 3 songs didn’t seem too bad. By the end of one week, I should have 7000 sweat points if I do it daily like I am supposed to…so, I plan to try my hardest to meet my objective every day and see how tired I am by the end of this week. I think I may switch out weekly….Just Dance one week, Zumba the next….and once that gets too easy, I may try to do both or some kind of combo. I’m still on beginner on Zumba…..I’m afraid of Intermediate because my feet don’t move as fast as they used to! Some of the beginner moves I have to tweak a bit as it is so I can do them.

I have a close friend who has promised to go to a real Zumba class with me when I am ready to and I am excited about going to one, but I think it’s probably going to be awhile before I build up my stamina enough to do an hour class. I just want to be able to make it through without collapsing 5 minutes in!

Well, that’s all the update I have for this week. Look for more on Monday and remember that these updates will be on Mondays from now on! Until then, here are some of my photos of meals I took!

Today’s lunch!

Yesterday’s lunch!

Spinach flatbread sandwich with cottage cheese!

YAY! Workout done!

To play along, just answer the following three (3) questions…

• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading? “You can run, but you can’t hide” by Duane “Dog” Chapman (still reading this due to not reading as much this week)   😦

What did you recently finish reading? Nothing…:( BUT I AM almost done with the book I HAVE been reading

What do you think you’ll read next? I just added two Kindle books that I’m going to be reading on a little at a time…One is called “Winning the Clutter War” by Sandra Felton(because I am bad with clutter!) and the other is called “I must decrease: Inspiration and Encouragement for Dieters” by Janice Hanna Thompson(hoping it will be a good read for me as I go through the big challenge of dropping pounds!)

I got my Booksfree books in the mail the other day, so I soon as I finish the book I am reading now, I will be reading “Fat, Stupid, Ugly: One Woman’s Courage to Survive” by Debrah Constance

{August 6, 2012}   Not Week 3…but Great news!

Guess I was right about my concerns with Mrs. Flow….I went in for my first weight check-in today and my weight has dropped another six pounds since Friday! In total, I have lost 13 pounds since I started on July 20th! From 368 to 355! I am soooo excited and my doctor was so happy about what I have accomplished so far.
I just couldn’t keep this news to myself. I feel so great even considering the fact that my computer got soda slipped on it. Luckily, it only ruined the power supply which is a lot more affordable than a whole new computer. I should have my computer back either later today or in a couple days if our computer guy has to order the part.
I’ll give everyone another update on Friday. I appreciate all you guys rooting for me!

{August 3, 2012}   Week Two Results

Well, it has been two weeks since I made the decision to change my life for the better. I dropped another pound this week for a total of seven pounds all together. I was expecting more, but (and sorry if you’re a guy reading this) I just recently had a visit from “Aunt Flow”. From past experience, I tend to put on a few pounds of water weight when she visits so I am really hoping for a drop on the scale when she leaves. I have made my first check-in with my doctor for this coming Monday so it would be nice to show even more of a loss. I know I shouldn’t be hummed about the one pound loss, since it’s better than nothing, but I really, REALLY want to be below 360. It’s been so long since I have…

This week has been harder because I have been craving food I can’t have, but it feels good to say I have NOT given in! Today, we took my mom to Olive Garden for her birthday and I faced my first out to eat /eating healthy challenge. I picked a salad and a meal of grilled chicken breast with broccoli and asparagus. It was good and I feel it fit my new healthier way of eating. It’s nice to know I CAN still eat out with people without feeling guilty!

For exercise, I have been doing Zumba on the Wii ..20 minute beginner classes and I can tell I am getting a little better each time. I think I am going to also research dance/aerobics videos on Netflix Instant Watch. I think having a lot of variety will keep me from getting bored and I definitely love dancing. It’s just so much fun and I forgot I am exercising!

Well…this is the update for me…I will let you know how next week goes next Friday! 🙂

As always, you may answer these questions in your own post or in the comments section!

This 5 Question Friday was brought to you by:

On to the questions!

1. What is a must in a hotel room? Besides a comfortable bed and working toilet/shower, clean room, all the BASICS you expect….A good air conditioner if it’s summer in Texas…I don’t ask for too much…

2. Which Olympic event would you be best at? LOL…are you kidding me? It would be easier to say which ones I would be horrible at….I am so not athletic at ALL!
3. What’s your stance on the Chick-fil-A subject? Ugh for whoever put this question in here…I feel like this is all I have heard lately…I will make this short and sweet, but I COULD by all means say a ton here.
I respect people’s opinions for and against gay marriage because it’s your right…I don’t have a problem with whoever wants to marry getting married because it doesn’t personally affect me in anyway. I have family and friends on both sides of the issue and I love them all not only because I believe God told us to love EVERYONE but also I believe it’s the right thing to do regardless.
4. One thing you said you’d never do as a parent, but totally have. Not applicable
5. What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever found at a yard sale? I don’t really know….I think it’s weird to see used underwear at yard sale….I know you could probably wash them really well but I just personally think underwear should be bought new….at the same time, I realize some people might not be able to even afford that :(…If you can, though…I say buy new

To play along, just answer the following three (3) questions…

• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading? “You can run, but you can’t hide” by Duane “Dog” Chapman (I love the show “Dog the Bounty Hunter” and we already had the second book I bought for my husband but have yet to read….I found this one as a Kindle Daily Deal for either .99 or 1.99, and had to get it! 🙂 )

What did you recently finish reading?  “The Wretched of Muirwood” by Jeff Wheeler and “Guiness World Records Wacky Sporting Champions” by Guiness World Records(an easy, entertaining, and quick read) which I also got as a Kindle Daily Deal recently for me AND my husband to look at. I LOVED the pictures!

What do you think you’ll read next? When I’m reading Kindle books, it’s hard for me to pick ahead what I am reading next…my next shipment of BooksFree books are on their way, though so if they come before I start another Kindle book, it will be one of them…you’ll just have to wait and see like I do! 🙂
