{November 13, 2011}   Eating your words…literally

A vacuum salesman appeared at the door of an old lady’s cottage and without allowing the woman to speak, rushed into the living room and threw a large bag of dirt all over her clean carpet. He said, “If this new vacuum doesn’t pick up every bit of dirt, then I’ll eat all the dirt.”
The woman, who by this time was losing her patience, said, “Sir, if I had enough money to buy that thing, I would have paid my electricity bill before they cut it off. Now, what would you prefer, a spoon or a knife and fork?”
Giving Thanks Day 13: Today, I am thankful for electricity. It’s something we all tend to take for granted even though we are surrounded by it. Without it, we would be reading at night with flashlights and book lights. Our cell phones would be charged through car batteries or changing the phone battery. Food would have to be cooked with fire or battery powered appliances and would take longer to cook. Air conditioning and heating would be a very different thing altogether and Television, computers and Video games would not be as convenient. Technology nowadays offers backups for not having electricity which can make life still very enjoyable, but there WAS a time years ago when this wasn’t so. Without electricity, candlelight was the light and fire was the heat. Let us be thankful for the advantages electricity has afforded us that our parents and grandparents didn’t always get to have.

lmao! This is going on my FB CCC page 🙂

I JUST finally found out where that page was the other day! LOL And then I liked the page so I would actually see your posts on there!

I think I need to put a badge on my blog of the FB CCC page 🙂

Maybe…cause I had your LaFemmeRoar page and I thought you meant that one at first….until I couldn’t find what you posted so I tried Crazy Chicks Club on Facebook search and found it!

The Hook says:

Hilarious share, Sharon!

A good moral, too! Make sure someone has electricity before throwing dirt on their carpet!

😆 Now that was hysterical… He owes her lunch too. 😉

Something tells me he won’t be eating much after all that dirt…LOL

I’m thankful for electricity too! When we have the Southwest outage this past September, we had no power for 11 hours and it was a real pain. During the 2003 wildfires I had no power for almost 3 days. I’m so glad I didn’t have kids then or I have no idea what I would have done with them and no electricity all this time!

Yea, half the time I don’t even realize how important it truly is until the lights flash when there’s a storm and I’m like, “Oh no! Please don’t let the power go out!”

Worth the trouble

“He couldn’t see why people made such a fuss about people eating their silly old fruit anyway, but life would be a lot less fun if they didn’t. And there was never an apple, in Adam’s opinion, that wasn’t worth the trouble you got into for eating it.” ~from Good Omens
