Giving Thanks Day #2: Today, I give thanks for my ability to read and my ability to see with my eyes, even if I need to wear glasses or contacts to do so adequately. Not only do my eyes allow me to read, but they allow me to see beauty in life; from a newborn baby to a beautiful rose, without my sight, I would be unable to truly understand what you can only learn through vision. We often take advantage of the fact that we can see until we are faced with the possibility of losing it. I want to give thanks now, today, for my sight instead of waiting for a moment to come when I may not have it anymore.

Worth the trouble

“He couldn’t see why people made such a fuss about people eating their silly old fruit anyway, but life would be a lot less fun if they didn’t. And there was never an apple, in Adam’s opinion, that wasn’t worth the trouble you got into for eating it.” ~from Good Omens
