To play along, just answer the following three (3) questions…

• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading? “How reading changed my life” by Anna Quindlen-I’ve been looking around for this book since Milka recommended it to me and I finally found it on and just received it yesterday!

What did you recently finish reading? “The Blood Countess” by Andrei Codrescu-Interesting, but I would definitely warn you not to read if you have a problem with extremely gory descriptions as well as VERY sexual ones….No exaggeration, it’s the MOST descriptive book for both of those that I have ever read….

“Under the Banner of Heaven: A Story of Violent Faith” by Jon Krakauer-Very educational about the beginnings of the Mormon religion(especially the Fundamentals) and enlightening…definitely thought provoking

What do you think you’ll read next? “The Day I turned Uncool:Confessions of a Reluctant Grown-up” by Dan Zevin-This is a comedic book recommended to me by my blogger friend Dayle, I also received this from BooksFree, and I am excited to read it next! 🙂

Currently, I’m on “Reading My Father” by Alexandra Styron about her dad, literary icon William Styron. Really good so far — well-written. William Styron also struggled with depression throughout his life, and the perspective of his daughter in this book is a nice companion to his memoir “Darkness Visible”.

Recently finished “Loose Diamonds”, a book of essays by Amy Ephron. Reviewed it for Librarything. Loved it. An easy read (and I mean that as a compliment).

Thinking I’ve got to read something “lighter” next -probably something from the school library where I work. “The Day I Turned Uncool” sounds neat. Interested to hear if you like it.

It supposed to be very funny and it’s not a very long book, so I am excited to read something fun and hilarious! 🙂
Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Great job and I hope you do a year end post on all your readings. Anna’s book is terrific. Enjoy! 🙂

What I have read so far has been great and I can relate so much….I’ve almost come up with an idea for a post just based on her book. 🙂
I love that she included reading lists at the back of her book….gives me ideas for more books to check out!

Oooh oooh oooh, I can’t wait to hear what you think about The Day I Turned Uncool!! 🙂

You shouldn’t have to wait too long because both that book and the other one about Reading are not very long! 🙂 I am excited to read it!

I finished “The day I turned uncool” yesterday…It was hilarious! I especially got a good laugh at his guides to putting up a shelf AND exercising! LOL

Haha! I LOVE that book! . . . It’s been a while though. I think I’m going to have to read it again 🙂 So glad you enjoyed it!

I’ll definately not be reading the gory one you just finished. Right now, I’m reading “Flies on the Butter” by Denise Hildreth. It is about a woman going home again and facing the issues that kept her away.

I don’t blame you for not wanting to read THAT one!

Worth the trouble

“He couldn’t see why people made such a fuss about people eating their silly old fruit anyway, but life would be a lot less fun if they didn’t. And there was never an apple, in Adam’s opinion, that wasn’t worth the trouble you got into for eating it.” ~from Good Omens
