{October 22, 2011}   Things I have Never Done

I recently came across my fellow blogger Eliz’s post on things she had never done and took an interest in following suit with my own post. She got the prompt from Mama Kat, who I have heard about a lot but I have to admit, I had never been to her blog myself to check it out. I did finally zip over there and she has a very nice blog going with lots of prompts. Hmm…Shall I add yet another person to the huge list of people I follow? Maybe…it could be beneficial with the amount of prompts she throws out…or so I have heard.

But without further ado, here is MY list of things I have never done and if you would like to do your own, feel free, no one is stopping you! If you have done anything on my list, I would love to hear about that, as well, too! 🙂

I’m twenty eight years old.

And I’ve never:

1. Ran in a marathon

2.Made a snowman with a carrot nose and top hat

3.Skinny dipped in a swimming pool

4.Flown in a hot air balloon over mountains

5.Sang on television

6. Watched a Sunrise while cuddling in the snow

7.Thrown a huge party

8.Danced an Irish jig

9.Gone swimming with dolphins

10.Played in a treehouse

11.Flown a kite on a windy day

12.Tried escargot

13.Learned Origami

14.Hit the bulls eye on a dartboard

15.Seen a volcano

16.Been in the Eiffel Tower or in Paris

17.Drove along Route 66 jamming out to music

18.Gambled

19.Held my own baby in my arms

20.Seen a broadway play

21.Kissed the Blarney Stone

22.Celebrated New Years Eve in Times Square

23.Attended a High School Reunion

24.Had my fortune told

25.Learned to Yodel

26.Joined the mile high club

27.Done a Political Campaign

28.Been to the Olympics

There you have it, 28 totally random things I have never done…some of these things I have no desire to do and probably will NEVER do….and some I actually would consider as part of a Bucket List! I wonder if you could guess which things are which? Maybe I will tell you at a later date?

I’ve actually done a handful of these things. You said to share? My snowman looked ridiculous as it was more ice than snow…must have been a pathetic snowday in southern CA. (and we had no Top Hat) I stood in line for a hot air balloon ride (in Temecula) and we were too late, as they all took off already and by the time any landed, the winds had picked up…What’s your idea of HUGE? I’ve thrown several very large parties for my kids birthday parties. I think my Irish Jig looked more like a drunken fool jumping around at an Irish Pub…My husband just went swimming with wild dolphins…there was a pod so close to shore and they were swimming around him…our tree house was yucky and I didn’t want to spend much time there, I hated kite flying as the string was a pain and then most of the time you had to run a bit…stood on(In?) an inactive volcano Oahu, Hawaii. Visited Mt. St. Helens area (In WA) after it blew in the 80’s. Lots of ash still remained on the highways. Route 66 extends a very long distance between states, are you sure? I’ve been on route 66 a few times. Of course, we’ve gambled…Vegas is just a 5 hour drive…I’ve had two babies…I saw an Off Broadway play Fiddler on the Roof when we went to NY. I haven’t been in the Eiffle Tower, but have been inside the Statue of Liberty. I’ve walked in Times Square. A past boyfriend called me at midnight while he was partying in Times Square new Years Eve…I’ve been to 3 reunions- my husbands 10th, my 10th, and then my 20th…fortune kind of told by friends studying the cards, but not really, contemplated the mile high club and we discussed- but the bathrooms are way too small and flight attendants watch them like a hawk. Ours would have ended up a fiasco like that Jennifer Aniston movie.

🙂
Great List! I’m 40, mine would be too long. Besides, why focus on what you haven’t done and focus on what you HAVE done? That’s more positive. 😉 Let me see that list!

Sandi

I just chose that many, but the person I got it from picked 22….there was no specific number, it was just things I haven’t done

I’ve only seen about 2 inches of snow that didn’t stick very long, so that’s why I never made a snowman and honestly, I would be fine with never making one because I wouldn’t want it to be THAT cold!
The idea of a hot air balloon ride scares me and I am in awe of those who can go for one! As far as a HUGE party, I was thinking any big party where you do food, drinks, games, music, etc., everything by yourself so the kid birthday parties would count…I haven’t even planned a small party by myself, though, but it would be fun. 🙂
I don’t know how to swim so I guess that does away with swimming with dolphins…..I think it would be cool to stand around or on an inactive volcano or even go to Hawaii for that matter. I don’t have enough money to gamble with……I would love to even see an OFF Broadway play but I haven’t yet….never been to New York at all……and I won’t ever have a high school reunion of my own because I went to an alternative type school to finish early. I actually have had my fortune told with tarot cards by my niece, but not professionally…I should have said had my palm read or my fortune told professionally…I forgot about the other time….I have no plans to make the mile high club….last time I flew, the bathroom was small enough for just me!
Maybe I will do another list sometime about things I HAVE done, but I just liked what my fellow blogger did and wanted to follow suit…I ended up with 28(same as my age) just because there were a lot of things that came to mine….I could have stopped at 10 or kept going….

Oh, I am SO stealing this! LOL I’ve done a few of the things on your list: I’ve been to the Eiffel Tower in Paris, rode a hot air balloon – not over Mountains, but over the Masai Mara in Kenya, see a volcano, and had my fortune told – both of those I did in Hawaii. 🙂 I think I’ll make my list like yours – part bucket list, part things that I don’t really care about doing. 🙂 Thanks for sharing this idea!

Wow, you are quite the world traveler, it sounds like! 🙂

I’ve done a few of these 🙂

#5 Sang on TV — My 5th grade choir sang the National Anthem at a Phillies’ game. I still have it on tape . . . The next year I was kicked off the choir for being tone deaf 😛

#18 Gambled — Not often and I never spent much, but I’ve enjoyed it on occasion.

#19 Held my own baby in my arms — Obviously

#20 Seen a Broadway Play — Rent and Cabaret

#24 Had my fortune told — I used to have a bit of an obsession for palm readers on the boardwalk 😛

Oh, and from what I am told, you don’t want to do #21 — http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20060721101859AAzQp4p — not sure if the ones who say yes are just messing around, but I don’t want to risk it! LOL

Very cool about singing at the baseball game and I bet seeing Rent and Cabaret was fun!
Ewww about the Blarney Stone….If I ever have the opportunity in the future, I will remember this!

Both musicals were fabulous. If you ever make it out to New York, let me know – I’ll meet you there!!

I’ll let you know, but I doubt it will be any time soon….can’t afford the trip! LOL

Oh, I understand completely! NY is just a bus ride away from me and I can’t afford it 😛

I believe it! I have heard the stories of how expensive the cost of living is there!

Oh, and I think I just got caught up on your blogs!

Now onto the other bunch of bloggers I follow 😛

ElizOF says:

Love, love, love your list! I had a good chuckle over your mile high club mention. You go Sharon! You rocked that list post and I enjoyed reading yours. 🙂

Don’t worry, I have no intention of making THAT one happen! LOL
I’m glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for giving me the idea!

What a list… I think you have to have a private jet to do the mile high club proper. 😀

I don’t have any plans to ever TRY to enter the mile high club….which is a good thing, I guess, since I don’t expect to ever be rich enough to own a private jet. 🙂

I haven’t done a number of those either, but I really don’t mind! There are so many other fun things to do in life, the list is endless.

There ARE so many things to do! A lot of things are actually things I don’t really care about, either, but I DID put a few that I would like one day! 🙂

Great list! You came up with some really good ideas. 🙂 I haven’t done a lot of those things either, there’s so many things out there to try. A lot of the really cool stuff involves traveling or a good amount of money though, so it might be a while before I get to try some of that stuff.

There really IS a lot to try out there! Some of these things I would love to do, others not so much, but it was fun thinking about it!
