{October 16, 2011}   Something Fishy going down….

Turns out eating fish does much more than put you at lower risk for heart disease and stroke AND increasing your memory if you eat it the night before an exam. That last little snippet was something my Mom always told me and she was sure to make Fish the night before the big standardized tests. Not sure if it actually worked but I DID always do well, so maybe there was something in that bit of wisdom. I recently found out Seafood is also good for Depression.

I love fish regardless, but this gives me one MORE reason to eat more of it when I can. How much do you know about Seafood and the beliefs and myths around it? I thought I knew a good bit, but taking this quiz on WebMD showed me there were a few things I was clueless about. I definitely suggest trying this quiz for yourself!

And for your enjoyment, a joke that somewhat has to do with fish….Sorry ahead of time to my blonde friends and family! 🙂

Ice Fishing

A blonde wanted to go ice fishing. She’d seen many books on the subject, and finally, after getting all the necessary items together, she made for the nearest frozen lake.

After positioning her footstool, she started to make a circular cut in the ice. Suddenly, from the sky, a voice boomed, “There are no fish under the ice!”

Startled, the blonde moved further down the ice and began to cut yet another hole. Again, from the heavens, the voice bellowed, “There are no fish under the ice!”

The blonde, now quite worried, moved way down to the opposite end of the ice, sat up her stool, and tried again to cut her hole. The voice came once more, “There are no fish under the ice!”

She stopped, looked skyward, and said, “Is that you, Lord?”

The voice replied, “No, manager of this ice rink!”

Worth the trouble

“He couldn’t see why people made such a fuss about people eating their silly old fruit anyway, but life would be a lot less fun if they didn’t. And there was never an apple, in Adam’s opinion, that wasn’t worth the trouble you got into for eating it.” ~from Good Omens
