To play along, just answer the following three (3) questions…

• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading? “The Man in the Rockefeller Suit: The Astonishing Rise and Spectacular Fall of a Serial Imposter” by Mark Seal                  I am about 3/4 of the way through this book and expect to finish it tonight some time….I first heard about it over on Milka’s Blog and found it at our library. Very interesting…I can’t help but wonder what this man could have become if he had used his intelligence for good instead of bad.

What did you recently finish reading? “Welcome to the World, Baby Girl” by Fannie Flagg….Loved it! I noticed a new book by her at our library when I was there this past weekend. I didn’t check it out because I already had planned to get 2 other books that were 7 day check outs and still had to finish THIS book at the time first. I am definitely going to put in on my To Read list for checking out some time in the future, though! 🙂

What do you think you’ll read next? “Great House” by Nicole Krauss….I read her book, “The History of Love” in the past and really liked it and the description of this one sounds really interesting so I figured I would check it out. This is my other 7 day check out so I should know by the end of the week whether I like this one or not!

I recommend that everyone goes and reads James Patterson’s article on about getting your kid to be a fanatic reader. GREAT article about how EVERYONE should encourage others, especially kids to read. He also makes it a point to provide ways to get your kids reading, with a special emphasis on boys, who can tend to get overlooked when teaching how fun reading can be. Even if you’re not a parent and never going to be, it’s good to read, like AND share! We ALL should make it a point to show others that reading is not only educational, but FUN! 🙂

  1. My mother got us to read by telling us that the television broke on the move from Colorado Springs to Texas. It did not take long to find the library.

I guess I am still reading the same book that I was reading last week… I put it aside to read “Only His” of the “A Fool’s Gold Romance” series by Susan Mallery. (I have not read the other books in this series yet. I imagine they are all stand alone novels about different people living in the town of Fool’s Gold.) It is a typical want/denial push/pull romance story with a happy ending – triplet sisters marry in triple wedding – with some unusual twists that kept it interesting.

Fannie Flagg sounds familiar… not sure if I have read any of her books.

    1. She wrote “Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe” which of course was turned into the movie “Fried Green Tomatoes” 🙂
I had TV as a kid, but I just always adored reading… mom always took me to the summer book clubs at the library where you got prizes for reading so many books and they didn’t even need to do so for me….if there are books, I am going to read them! You don’t have to tell me twice! 😀

  2. I’ll have to check out more books from Fannie Flagg. Read Fried Green Tomatoes, it’s really good. I love that line from Kathy Bates in the movie when she crashes into the girls’ car. “I’m older and I have better insurance”. Ha, brilliant!
