To play along, just answer the following three (3) questions…
• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you’ll read next?
What are you currently reading? “Dragon Spell” by Donita K. Paul…I’m about halfway through. I haven’t read as much in the past week because I’ve been busier with other things…hopefully I will finish this book by the end of the week so I can do the review for this book next week
What did you recently finish reading? Nothing….been reading the same book this past week….my first big reading slowdown since I started this WWW Wednesday
What do you think you’ll read next? “I Don’t Mean to Be Rude, But…: Backstage Gossip from American Idol & the Secrets that Can Make You a Star
Cool, where do you find all the books you read? Do you just search the internet for certain types of books or do you choose them based on recommendations from friends or magazine articles? Sometimes I don’t know where to start to find books that I’ll really like.
Well, I’ve always loved to read so I have many fav. authors that I read their books…..Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Anne Rule, V.C. Andrews, Agatha Christie, Mary Higgins Clark, etc. I could go on for awhile…..lol
Since I started blogging, I have grabbed a couple books up based on recommendations from fellow bloggers….if I see a book mentioned by a blogger that sounds really interesting to me, I will try to find it at the library….I usually only buy books new if it’s a book I can’t find at the library and I am really wanting to read it….otherwise, I will wait until I go to Austin and check the Half Price book store for it….I have bought interesting books from the annual library book sale that sounded interesting as well as from thrift stores and garage sales in the past….I normally stick to fav. authors unless a book’s title really grabs me….
Since I made a GoodReads account…which you can find the link on the right side of my blog where it talks about my reading challenge if you are interested…I have been able to see what other friends are reading or have read and see their reviews…..so I have used that to find some books that were interesting and then I can add them to my “to read” list where I can remember what books to look for….
In the past, I also looked up a list of banned books and picked a few off there to read….and my last time at the library, I looked up best selling books from about 1930 to now and glanced at the titles…..that’s where I found 3 of the last library books I got….I typed in the titles that looked interesting on Good Reads and then read the description and reviews to figure out if I liked them first then went and checked them out. 🙂
Then another thing I have done is look around the library and grab a random book that looks interesting off the shelf and read the back description…if it sounds intriguing, I will give it a chance….
Thanks for reminding me to read Rebecca. I hope I like it as much as you did!
Your’e welcome and I hope you did, too! You’re probably done reading by now…I’m behind on replying to comments since I don’t know how to on my phone!
Like you, I get discount books or buy flea market finds…
I have a lot to read so I might not buy new ones for a while.
A nice post would be to share what you found at the $1 fair. 🙂
Well, I’ve never been to a $1 fair…..but I have been to library book sales that our library has every year……where they have items that are 10cents, a quarter, .50,.75, $1, $3 first edition books and then auctioned books…..The last one like that I went to was back in April……I went to Half Price Books in Austin over the weekend and got some more books…..2 of them were from the $1 clearance section. 🙂
