{July 14, 2011}   Weekly Photo Challenge: OLD FASHIONED

Isn’t old fashioned a hard thing to peg in some circumstances? For instance, me and my husband were just discussing about how fashion goes in and out of style…a style that might have been from the 60’s originally could conceivably come back in fashion today and the same goes for other decades and styles.

A modern photo turned vintage

Thanks to computer and photo software, we can make something “modern” appear “old fashioned” OR Vintage.

Vintage Reading πŸ™‚

Agatha Christie is one of my favorite authors…although several of her books are “old fashioned” in design, her mysteries are never out of style for me!

Necklaces from the 20's and 30's

My Nanny gifted me all these necklaces…practically one in every color you can imagine. They are genuine necklaces made in the 20’s and 30’s that a friend would make and give to her. She knew how much I love vintage jewelry and she doesn’t wear much of it anymore so she gave them to me. I have them hanging on my bedroom wall where I can look at them all the time since I love them so much! πŸ™‚

These 3 photos show “old fashioned” things that are favorites of mine. To me, they have a timeless appeal. Vintage photos(or a modern one made vintage!), Old books and jewelry are 3 of my favorite things! πŸ™‚

I would buy and wear those necklaces from the 20s do you own all of them? I do love old fashion coming back. I have those (nikkers) the pants that go below knees. What a great post with great PHOTO’s.

Yes, all the ones in the photos are ones that my Nanny gave to me and I wouldn’t get rid of them for anything……except maybe to pass on to my daughters one day. πŸ™‚
Glad you liked my post!

Did I tell you I am a huge Agatha Christie fan? I have a list of books that I own of hers too. I love her mysteries too.

That’s awesome, I have tons of her books….I just grabbed one off the shelf to take a pic of with my cell phone for this post. Most of my Agatha Christie books are in boxes over at my parents for now because we didn’t have room for ALL my books in our apt.

Thanks! I love old fashioned things. πŸ™‚

I loved the modern photo turned vintage
I will have to try that with one of my photos using photshop – great idea, thanks!

You’re welcome! πŸ™‚
Glad you liked!

I like the old fashioned photo of you and your husband a lot! It reminds me of Twilight or something. And those necklaces are pretty darn cool, especially since they’re hand-made! The necklaces I’ve hand-made in the past with beads do not look that good, haha!

Thank you! πŸ™‚
I think the necklaces are pretty awesome as well, which is why I have them proudly displayed! πŸ˜€

Worth the trouble
