{June 17, 2011}   Five Question Friday for June 17th,2011

Summer may not have officially started yet, but here in Texas where I live, it sure feels like it has! Right now, it is currently 100 Degrees with a feels like temp. of 103, yuck! And that’s probably not the hottest it will be today because our hottest temperature has been coming between 5-6 in the evening.

If you are also somewhere where it’s THAT hot, make sure to keep hydrated with plenty of liquids and protect yourself from that sun! As for me, I am staying indoors with the Air conditioner doing another 5 question Friday!

This 5 Question Friday was brought to you by:

On to the questions!

1. What is your favorite summer time activity? I am not now nor have ever been an outdoorsy person and as soon as the temps. start to rise outside, I tend to hibernate indoors all the more. So in actuality, being inside with the AC reading is my fav. activity BUT if I had to pick an outdoors one, I would say hanging with friends and/or family somewhere in the shade or swimming(though I don’t know how)

2. Do you have one laundry soap you stick to, or do you buy whatever’s on sale? We don’t have a hook-up for a washer/dryer in our apt. so it’s either the apt. washeteria area or borrowing a family’s…..currently, we wash and dry our clothes at my parent’s because they are trying to save us the money it would cost to pay the machines we have here, therefore I really don’t have a preference for soap atm

3. What is your favorite dinner to make in the summer? I don’t think I have one….Pasta is my fav. meal year round but if I am eating outdoors where it’s hot, I would probably prefer sandwiches or something lighter….more fruits cause they’re refreshing

4. Do you have any talents? I love to sing…I think I’m fairly good at it so I guess that’s a talent. I would like to think I have a talent for writing sometimes and also that I can act decently. I can impersonate a baby’s cry as an unusual talent. Oh…and I don’t know if it’s really a talent, but I’ve always been able to do that ballet move where you turn both feet outwards and slowly squat down and back up…I know the name of it but for the life of me can’t recall it at the moment! I was born with my right hip extended a little out so it makes it really easy for me.

5. If you could instantly be an expert in something, what would it be? Why? It would be awesome if I could be an expert in what men are thinking. I’m sure every woman would love that and every man would love to know what women are thinking! It would also be nice to be an expert in knowing how to make money, LOL I like to dream big, what can I say?
Well, there you have them, 5 questions and my 5 incredible or cheesy answers…take your pick! As always, feel free to answer them in the comments or your own blog! OR feel free to ask me a question of your very own that you would like me to answer! If you do, I might turn them into a post or add it in next week’s 5qf with a link to who asked it!
(Sending a special thanks to Mirth and Motivation for bestowing upon me the honor of not 1, not 2, BUT 3 awesome awards that I will be sharing later on in the week with others! Be sure to check her blog out if you never have! It’s so awesome!)

I love your answer to #5. Maybe I should change mine to that…lol

LOL! I thought other women might agree! 🙂
Your answer was good, too, though. Being an expert at computers would come in handy whenever my computer decides to rebel against me! Which is pretty often, it seems!

Jackie Paulson Author says:

What is your fav. Summer activity? Staying home reading.
Do you have one laundry soap or buy on sale? Buy what is on sale under 5.00…I hate to do laundry we have to go to my sisters as we live in apt.
Fav Dinner summer? I dont’ cook sister does hubby does. I clean up and love it.,but my dad owned a restaurant so I grew up eating there-
Talents? Poetry, writing, Cutting hair.
Expert wanna be..Publisher,

Looks like we have a few things in common there! Wish you lived closer, I would ask you to give my hair a trim! 🙂

Wow 100 degrees? Sounds like a brutal start to summer! We’ve been at 70-80 degrees in Northern California and it’s been really great weather finally after a few weeks of downpours. I’m glad it hasn’t gotten too humid yet, though the nights have been hot and I haven’t slept hardly at all these past 3 days. I’m glad you have air conditioner though! I wish we did.

Cool about your talents, do you ever watch “America’s Got Talent”? They have some pretty crazy acts on there and it can be pretty interesting to watch when I’m around to see it.

Wow…cooler temps. in California…I would say you’re lucky if it wasn’t for all that rain. We need some of it here though…if you would like to share!
I don’t know how people can deal in Texas without an AC…I feel bad for those who don’t have one. 😦
I watch America’s Got Talent on a regular basis and love it! 🙂

Hmm, looks like someone needs to learn how to swim. Seriously. It’s important, especially if you’re around kids at any time who like to get in the water. Or you go on a cruise and the ship sinks. Hey, you never know!
And that ballet move, are you talking about plié?
Oh, I don’t think you really want to know what men are really thinking. It would look like this: eh, hungry. Sex. Should eat. Sex. Sandwich or burger? Sex. You’d want to be done with your talent after a few minutes! BTW, I’m not making this up, it’s been documented many, many times!

Yes, I know…I have tried but I hate sticking my head fully underwater. It makes my eyes burn, my throat and nose hurt. My middle sister doesn’t know how to swim either which is why she put each of her 3 kids in swimming lessons as babies and they all love water and can swim good as well as her husband. My husband knows how to swim and I will probably do what my sister did and put them in lessons as well. Let’s hope my kids like to swim and do good with it, cause otherwise I guess I will be learning fast if one of them started to drown. I think in that situation, I would get over my fear fast so I could save my kid.
Yes, a plie, that is it! 🙂 I don’t have that punctuation mark above the e on my keyboard, though!
LOL…yea, very true about what men think. I think I would be losing IQ points each second, huh? LOL

eof737 says:

I like pasta too but what had me laughing was your desire to know what men are thinking… aren’t we all? 🙂

Yes…maybe not ALL the time, but there are times when men do stuff and you really wonder what the heck they were thinking. It’s those moments that I would like to be a mind reader!

Lying in hammockon front porch reading your blogpost, sipping water -taking it easy. My favorite thing to do at the moment.

Sounds divine! I’ve never quite mastered the art of getting into one of those contraptions!

nrhatch says:

Good answers, Sharon. In the summer, I love playing in the pool to stay cool and one of my favorite summer foods is pasta salad (with lots of fresh veggies) .

MMM, Pasta Salad! Yummy!
