{June 12, 2011}   Upside down sleep?

Things appear to be turned upside down and all topsy turvy lately. I’m starting to think there’s some kind of opposites week I’m unaware of. First, I noticed my views have decreased significantly over the past week. Not that I pay much attention to them anyways, but I do glance at the chart when I am checking my dashboard everyday and I can’t help but notice when the bars are way up and suddenly are really low. There could be many reasons for this.

1)In the U.S. right now, Summer has just started recently. A lot of people I follow have been away from their blogs lately for many reasons and I’m sure a lot of the ones that view MY blog have probably been busier as of late. Parents now have kids out of school, which means vacations and time spent with kids, and decreased computer time. It makes sense and this is the most probable cause.

2) A majority of last week’s blogs have had less of an interesting content than usual. I’m guilty for this, I know. I’ve just spent a lot more of my free time reading than doing my blog lately. I managed to finish all 3 of my library books I had checked out for a week plus my new book I bought AND just today, I read another book. Wow….I’m in bookworm mode like crazy at the moment.

3)Actually, I’m not sure of a 3rd reason but I feel like things should come in three’s so here you go!

Besides the blog view decrease, I have also had a sleep pattern disrupt. If you’re a follower of my blog, then you know I’m a night owl. Well, a few days ago, I was really tired and I didn’t know why but I ended up falling asleep really early…as in 9 p.m. early. The next morning I awoke around 5:30 a.m. and I just couldn’t sleep anymore so I got up for the day. After staying awake all day, I expected night time to bring the same wakefulness as always. Normally, night time comes and I am more alert than ever and can’t go to sleep for nothing! But that night, I started falling asleep while reading and ending up hitting the hay around 10 p.m. Next morning, up around 5:30 again. Yesterday, I awoke around 6:30 and last night I made it to 11:30 p.m. barely before nodding off. I slept in later than I had the past few days this morning when I woke up at exactly 7:22 a.m., but all in all, still VERY early for me. I’m not sure why the change in my sleep cycle and I have mixed feelings about it. I like the fact that it “feels” as if my day has more hours in it even though theoretically, I am still awake about the same as before. I don’t like how I end up asleep well before my husband does, though. We appear to have switched sleep cycles and it’s rather irritating. In fact, my husband told me yesterday that I was turning into an old woman because I was going to bed so early and waking up early. Ugh, really? Before it was HIM doing so and now it is me. Can we get on the same schedule, please? In the past I have stayed awake or woken up earlier just to try to get on the same pattern as him and it never works! Why, you ask? Because his schedule constantly changes and mine usually stays the same. I’ve ALWAYS, always been a night owl and now…I’m not sure what is going on. I heard about this solar flare this past week that occurred and I know they said it might affect machines slightly….could it have affected me too? Even though I am most definitely not a machine!?

AND if all of that hasn’t convinced anyone besides myself that the world has literally gone all crazy, then wait until you hear this! I am an avid follower of The Hook because his douchebaggery tales from being a bellhop are hilarious and crack me up. I’m sure at the time they are happening to HIM, they are not quite as funny but he just tells them so cleverly that his tag line of “You’ve been Hooked” rings so true! He had me hooked at the first sentence I read of his! He also has another blog called “The Book of Terrible” chronicling all the bad, dirty and ugly in this world…It’s so terrible that it’s wonderful. Just two days ago, he announced Bizarro Week on his blog. He’s going GOOD all week on his blog. What is happening?

I’m excited to see the good side of things but I can’t help but drop my jaw when I see Bizarro Week occurring right as my world seems to be turning upside down. Ironic? I don’t know…What do you think?

*I highly recommend The Hook’s blogs, by the way….His last post is very sweet and touching, which is also a break from his normal rants about the douchebags that show up at his hotels, BUT I loved it just as much! :)*

Are things feeling upside down for you too lately or have I just simply lost my mind?

Worth the trouble
