{June 3, 2011}   5 Question Friday TIME!

Yep, it’s that time again! Another five question Friday, brought to you by fivecrookedhalos. Once again, I extend to you the freedom to answer through your own blog or right here in the questions.

Today also marks a special day…my 2nd youngest niece(before I got married and gained 2 more nieces) turns 18 today! Wow! Where is the time going? Happy Birthday to my niece Hannah! Hope you have an awesome day and feel free to stop growing older any day now! 🙂

Without further ado, the questions:

  1. If you had to choose, how would you prefer to choose to spend money…on landscaping or a pool? Since I live in an apartment, neither are realistic dreams at the moment….but someday when I can have a house of my very own….I would THEN pick the pool…there’s not even a doubt there! I live in Texas where even the winter finds Northerner’s hanging around in shorts and looking at us with our jackets like we are so strange to be cold! I can’t swim and I usually stay away from pools because I hate to get in a bathing suit, blecch! BUT if I had my own personal pool, I would so relax in the shallow end when the weather is hot…just to cool off 🙂
  2. Death penalty, yay or nay? Ah, one of those controversial questions that will bring readers to my blog to possibly argue and disagree no matter what my answer may be. This is a difficult question because there are some horrible people in this world, especially the ones that molest and kill children and I would be a liar to say that I don’t wish they got back exactly what they gave out, if not worse BUT I also feel like it’s not my place to say whether a person should live or die. I believe in Heaven and Hell and I believe when you die, you are judged for all that you have done in life therefore, I also believe that God will then give judgment out as to where that person will spend eternity. So I suppose that my answer is nay…let God do the judging.
  3. What’s the worst thing your kid has gotten into when you turned your back/blogged/showered/blinked? No kids but I have nieces/nephews and I have babysat a lot so….Can you believe that I can’t think of anything? Yea, I can’t believe it either…must be a selective memory! I guess I could say something that I, personally, got into as a kid when my mom wasn’t watching me…..I got my sister’s red nail polish and painted her vanity while ALSO painting my entire body red….I have no clue why, I was a little kid! My mom said she had to scrub me forever to get it off…and no, I didn’t learn my lesson, cause on another occasion, I painted my body again with a black PERMANENT marker….my poor mom! 😦
  4. How often do you REALLY go to the dentist? Uh…not enough…Dentists are expensive and no insurance so at the moment they just do not fall into my necessary category….I know, I know, FOR SHAME!
  5. What is your favorite animal (doesn’t have to be a pet-type animal)? Haha, I would normally say “baby animals” because I don’t know what specific animal to pick…all the baby ones are just so darn cute! BUT because of the added note that it doesn’t have to be a pet-type animal, I will use this “creative license” that writers are blessed with and say that my favorite animal is my husband….He’s an animal! Humans are mammals! 🙂

Never leave permanent markers around kids!!! We have washable markers and my youngest decided to scribble red marker all over his legs one day. I freaked out when I first saw him because I thought he was bleeding all over!!! That was his first special effect = what a prankster, and he’s only 3!

Yes, I think I will definitely have to make sure when I have kids to hide everything……after what I did as a kid, I’m fearful of what my own kids will be getting into!

Hi …..first of all thanks so much for your likes on my blog ….means a lot to me xx
Death penalty? just a question in the form of a debate …if your child was raped and murdered would you feel the same as in ..nay ….do you know something i could not answer the same question when asked the other day
Ian xx

See that’s why it’s a difficult question because it’s easy for me who has never experienced anyone close to me die from a murderer or anything of that sort to say that I’m against it…….It’s one of those things where you can say you feel a certain way but do you really know? If you’re put in the situation yourself, would you really handle it the way you THINK you would? I don’t think anyone can really answer that unless they HAVE, you know?
I don’t have kids yet and when I do, honestly, if anything like that happened to them, I really think I would be very angry and want whoever did it to pay…..I think it would be hard for me to follow the path I would wish I picked and say, you know what? I’m going to let God judge him or her…..
I do very much believe we are meant to forgive the ones who do the worst to us but is that an easy task? Not at all…and if I am ever put in that situation, can I sit here and say for sure I will take the side that I KNOW is right? NO…I can’t say that because it would be a lie…..I can’t predict the future which is why I am just answering for the standpoint at this very moment in my life….that’s all I can do

Hi Sharon. I’m not going to be one of those readers to your blog to possibly argue and disagree no matter what your answer may be for question two but if you would humor me…

I’ve been doing a lot of reading of the Bible lately and I won’t dispute the fact that perhaps your husband might act like an animal sometimes. All men do! But, God created Adam and Eve on separate days than the animals. We might all be mammals, but I’m not an animal and I don’t think any of us are. I know you were just being funny but since you mentioned God in your answer to two, I thought you might allow me to use some license. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

LOL, I know that humans aren’t actual animals…I was just being silly and my husband thought it was cute. I always call him my Yogi Bear or cuddle bear so it’s a loving, humorous statement when I said he was my favorite animal. I actually wasn’t referring to him in a negative at all.
Hopefully you understand what I meant about it now and I didn’t mean to infer that humans WERE truly animals.
Hope you have a great weekend too! 🙂

Tom Baker says:

I figured you knew that but since I had been reading and studying the Bible I thought I might drop some knowledge and see if I was right.
