{January 18, 2011}   Prayers

For all of you who believe in praying, I have some prayer requests that I would like to share with you.

One of my mother-in-law’s friend’s son’s had a bad fall a few days ago and he is in a coma, has pneumonia and is on 80% oxygen, I believe…he is just in really bad shape…so any prayers for this family would be great…Also, my mother-in-law has arthroscopic surgery on her knee tomorrow morning…it’s just supposed to be an outpatient surgery but pray for it to go smoothly and help her with her knee pain that she has been suffering with for some time.

Prayers are also needed for my family in Austin…it’s been a few weeks now since it happened but they lost a loved one through horrible circumstances and I know for some of them maybe more than others, the pain is still there and will probably be there for awhile….Lastly but not of any less importance, pray for my mom…She has had her 3rd and last shot on her knee this week and she said it was feeling a little better but if it doesn’t become a lot better, she may have to have a knee replacement and I hate for her to have to deal with that. She has been down and not able to do much since before Thanksgiving and she just absolutely hates it cause she is such an outgoing person who is always on the go and it’s been really hard on her. I would love to see her pain get tremendously better so she is able to get around more and not be depressed.

Here are some quotes about prayer I found inspiring:

No one is a firmer believer in the power of prayer than the devil; not that he practices it, but he suffers from it.  ~Guy H. King

“God shapes the world by prayer. The more prayer there is in the world the better the world will be, the mightier the forces of against evil …” E.M. Bounds

On persevering prayer: “I look at a stone cutter hammering away at a rock a hundred times without so much as a crack showing in it.  Yet at the 101st blow it splits in two.  I know it was not the one blow that did it, but all that had gone before.”

Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it.
— Helen Keller

“And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)

May God watch over those I love and the people they love

“He couldn’t see why people made such a fuss about people eating their silly old fruit anyway, but life would be a lot less fun if they didn’t. And there was never an apple, in Adam’s opinion, that wasn’t worth the trouble you got into for eating it.” ~from Good Omens
