On to the questions!

1. What do you appreciate most about your children’s Dad?  No kids YET but I’m married so I know who my future children’s DAD will be….When I think of the future and having kids, I think of how my husband will be such a good Dad when it comes to being able to really act like a kid himself and play around and be silly…I think I will appreciate that when I need someone to keep the kids entertained while I’m working :)

2. Do you always wear your seat belt? Yes, I do because I am usually always in the driver’s seat….on the rare occasion when I ride in the back seat, I try to but back when the seat belt didn’t fit…I just held it across me. This was only cause I didn’t really have any other option, though.

3. Do you dream and do you remember them? I think we ALL dream, but we just don’t always remember it.  Lately, I have been remembering them more because I have had some pretty insane dreams these past couple of weeks. Maybe it’s because of how much busier my life has been…idk…but they have been weird!

4. What is one thing you swore you’d never let your kids do before having them, that you have now changed your ways about? NA….I will have to get back to you in the future.

5. If you could be granted one wish, what would it be? I’m going with the wish I have been wishing for so long now and it may seem selfish, but it’s at least honest.  I would wish to be pregnant with my first child. :)

On to the questions!

1. What is an acceptable age for girls to start dating? I don’t have kids yet, but I think it DOES matter on the maturity level of the kid a bit. I never dated until way into college myself. I think I will say around 16 maybe, for like a double date or somewhere with other people. Not necessarily completely alone somewhere.  Dates with some form of supervision at least indirectly, if not directly. When the kid becomes an adult, they can go on dates as they choose.

2. Do you think your kids should have summer homework? Another not applicable question for me…I personally never had Summer Homework, although I kind of wish I had reading lists because it would have been an excuse to read more! :) As for homework in general, no…I don’t think they should. It takes the fun out of summer. If they worked around to year round school with more frequent breaks, but shorter ones, I think THAT could help solve the not being able to remember dilemma kids have. I know that’s not a popular thought for kids because I can’t honestly say I would have liked that idea myself, but….I think it would help.

3. Would you prefer to live without AC or heat? If I lived somewhere where the temperature dropped into the negatives all the time, I might feel differently, but since where I lives rarely gets below 30 degrees…..I would say I could live without the heat. Summer temps here are over 100 a lot while in the winter, we rarely even use our heat, so….I definitely could NOT live without the AC!

4. What the worst thing about staying in a hotel? (Besides not being with your family) Well, most of the time you never sleep as good as you do in your OWN bed…even if it’s a fancy hotel with an awesome one. Having to wait forever on elevators OR climb tons of stairs isn’t much fun either….I think the good parts outweigh the bad, though.

5. So, do your kids really get “104 days of summer vacation”? (Bonus points for those of you that get this reference!) I don’t get this reference…maybe I would if I had kids. I would love for someone to explain it to me, though! As for my answer, even though I don’t have kids yet, I have heard schools around here are going into June and returning in August sometime. I’ve never been amazing at Math but I don’t think that’s 104 days…..maybe more like 60-70. ;)

On to the questions!

1. Do you wake before the alarm or stay in bed until the last possible second? I normally don’t have a set time I NEED to wake up but when I use an alarm, I tend to wake up when it goes off, not before. Today, however, I woke up 35 minutes before it went off(cause I had to use the bathroom!) and stayed up.

2. Who should get a baby shower? Is it just the first baby or all babies? Well, I think mainly just the first baby, but I think there are good reasons to sometimes break that rule. For instance, if a family had a baby and then didn’t have the next until so long after that they had already gotten rid of all or most of their stuff. OR if a family has gone through some disaster and lost a lot or all of their stuff. In those cases, and others that I probably didn’t even think of, it makes sense. If however, a person has a baby then has the next a year after, then I think it’s kind of ridiculous(even if the baby is a different sex than the first). Friends and family can still give gifts for each baby, nothing wrong with that…but a baby shower for each consecutive baby is a little much, in my personal opinion.

3. How will you spend Memorial Day? Probably taking my Mom to run some errands as I usually do on Monday and then coming home to just hang out at my house with my husband.

4. Do you have a Storm/Hurricane/Tornado/Fire plan for your kids, house..? No, not a specified written plan….maybe when I have kids, I will actually get one done…but for now, I guess I’m too lazy. :(

5. What is your favorite morning drink? Well, I don’t like Coffee or Tea…Over 10 months ago, I would say Mountain Dew cause that’s pretty much all I drank. Now I just drink water ALL the time with those drink mixes so I don’t really have a choice in what I pick here…

Day 24-A book that you wish more people would have read

This is an easy one! I have to say anything by Kimberly Kinrade, but overall the WHOLE “Forbidden Trilogy”. It’s in the same vein as a lot of these other books that have been turned into movies lately, for instance, “The Hunger Games” but better, in my honest opinion. I know other people through her Street Team and her launch parties that love this trilogy BUT I don’t have any really super close friends or family that have ever read it and that makes me sad. :( I would love it if they all read it too and loved it as much as I did so we could share the love together! AND getting Kimberly more loyal fans would be awesome for her too as she truly deserves it. I would love it if “Forbidden Trilogy” was made into movies too!

On to the questions!

1. Do you have a doppelgänger? Maybe…I’ve had people act like they know me and then go, “Oh, I thought you were so and so, you look just like them” so somewhere around this area, there could be one but I haven’t personally ran into someone that I thought, “They look just like me!” Of course, maybe I have and just didn’t know it cause I didn’t think they DID look like me…who knows? I think everyone has someone out there who could be their twin :)

2. Do you keep your car cleaned up? I’ve been using my Mom’s car for months now and I try to keep it pretty clean. My car never stayed clean cause my husband drove it and kept it messy…ugh!

3. What is a current fashion that drives you crazy. Leggings wore wrong bother me but not so badly if they’re in a dark color, like black…NUDE leggings should be banned. Seriously…especially if you’re going to wear them as pants without a long shirt, tunic or dress over them. If you see a person in skin tight nude leggings and their butt isn’t covered up, it REALLY looks they are bottomless and….that’s just tacky and inappropriate. I don’t care if you’re a size 0 or a size 30, it looks like you’re completely nude on the bottom and that’s just gross!

4. How often do you go grocery shopping? About twice a week when I take my Mom to run errands, so I get a few things on Monday and a few things on Friday.

5. What has been the best surprise of your life? I know what WOULD be the best surprise, but what has already been….I don’t know…maybe when my husband surprised me with proposing to me almost 5 years ago when I knew he wanted to but couldn’t afford the ring. When he surprised me with the picnic, it was in the back of my head that he might, but then I also really doubted it cause I knew he didn’t have a ring. So when he proposed with his great grandma’s ring, I was shocked and very surprised but it was definitely a great surprise!

Day 17-Favorite Quote

I know my favorite quote but this obviously speaking of favorite quote from a book. I’ve never really thought about what my favorite quote from a book was. I’m going to say it would be, “If only there could be an invention that bottled up a memory, like scent. And it never faded, and it never got stale. And then, when one wanted it, the bottle could be uncorked, and it would be like living the moment all over again.” This is a quote from “Rebecca” by Daphne Du Maurier and I choose it because of the beauty of it. I think it WOULD be lovely if memory could be bottled as a scent. I absolutely adore this book!

On to the questions!

1. What’s the one personal hygiene thing you will not do in front of your spouse? Well, the one time I did a face mask, I scared him half to death so I think he would prefer I NOT do that around him! I’m pretty comfortable around my husband so I don’t know if there’s anything I won’t do…I prefer to tweeze facial hairs(when I need to) when I’m by myself only cause if I get startled, it can hurt worse and I prefer to shave alone for the same, but I don’t care if he happens to be around me when I do

2. What’s your favorite thing about a newborn? Newborn baby smell, the sound of their giggles and their little toes and fingers…how incredibly cute and adorable they are. Can you tell I’m ready to have kids? LOL

3. When is “too young” to have a Facebook account? Unfortunately, there is a lot of inappropriate things shown on FB that even I find distasteful so the age limit they have of 13(which is NOT enforced) is too young in my opinion….If they did a FB for kids, I feel like there might be perverts lurking and pretending to be kids, though so it’s a tough thing. I think parents nowadays have to be very vigilant and aware of what their kids are doing and I almost think the parents should be the ones to decide.(Not that every parent makes the best decisions) I don’t have kids yet but I think I would consider it once they get to high school. I would have to be able to monitor their involvement to some extent, though.

4. What are your hoping for for Mother’s Day? Not a mom yet….it would be nice to get the news that I was going to be a Mom on Mother’s Day…but that’s impossible at this point…..maybe next year, eh? :) I hope my Niece has her baby girl by Mother’s Day though :)

5. What was the best field trip you ever took in school? Definitely the 10th grade Choir Trip to DisneyWorld! We had to pay our own way, which meant saving money, but it was worth it!

Day 10-Favorite Classic Book

There’s a lot of classics that I have not read…I’m ashamed to admit it, but it’s true. I was going to say “The Hobbit” by J.R.R. Tolkien until I realized “Rebecca” by Daphne Du Maurier was a classic. I don’t know what it is about the book, “Rebecca” but it’s absolutely one of my favorite books of all time and I JUST read it last year. I actually have a few more of her books…Daphne is a she, right? lol….and I really hope they are just as good. If so, the Daphne Du Maurier will be one of my favorite authors as well!

I want to add that I didn’t pick any of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy because while I admit that J.R.R. Tolkien is an amazing writer, the LOTR trilogy is full of descriptive writing to the extreme. Some people LOVE descriptive writing where the characters and scenery are endlessly described down to the very last detail and some people are like me. I like just enough description as needed to tell the story and then my imagination takes over. In the case of describing things, I like the “less is more” theory. I love reading dialogues and I love reading into the story lines and the plots and I prefer my descriptions short, simple and to the point. That’s just my taste but I respect others as well. :) The world would be a sad place if we all liked the same things!

*The blog I got this from is NOT doing a 5QF this week so I took the liberty of finding a random OLD 5QF that was done way before I started doing them. These are the questions from the May 7th, 2010 post.*

1. What is your next home improvement goal? Just cleaning in general, I guess…I can’t really do anything major to my house cause it’s an apartment

2. If you could only read one book for the rest of your life, what would it be? No religious texts (ie Bible, Quran, Torah, etc, etc)… I’m sorry but I refuse to answer this…the idea of only reading ONE book for the rest of my life is horrific, I can’t even choose! I would go insane! A world where this was the reality is NOT one I could live in!

3. What is on top of your refrigerator? Bread, some chips that have been there for awhile(hint to my hubby!) and croutons…not sure what else…too lazy to go look!

4. What are your favorite or most used phone apps? I don’t use too many since I got my Kindle….I prefer to do most things on it and leave my phone for texting and talking but I do use my WordPress app a lot to check if there are any comments :)

5. What’s the one thing you hate most about your spouses job? I don’t really hate anything about it….I just wish he would get busy working more so he could bring in some more dough! LOL I swear I’m not trying to pick on him…it’s just the questions that are being asked!

readingchallDay 3-My Favorite Series

I’m going to go with the first one that popped into my head when I saw today’s prompt. The “Anita Blake, Vampire Slayer” Series by Laurell K. Hamilton. I have many favorites, though, but I especially love the fact that this series keeps going and going, like the Energizer bunny. LOL AND I got into it when over a dozen were already out so I didn’t have to wait too long for a lot of them either. My niece/best friend Rebekah got me into this series when she talked me into reading the first book and then loaned me the other ones. I am SO glad she did! Tomorrow will be my fav. book of THIS series so see you then if you want to find out which one I pick and why! :)

*The blog I got this from is NOT doing a 5QF this week so I took the liberty of finding a random OLD 5QF that was done way before I started doing them. These are the questions from the May 7th, 2010 post.*

1. Who drives when your family is together, you or your spouse? Me…I love to drive so if I’m in the car with my husband, I’m driving! I think there’s only been maybe once or twice that I’ve let him drive. Once was a couple Christmases ago when I went to the ER for high blood pressure and my Mom told me I shouldn’t be driving home..and I think there might have been another time cause I just was not feeling good at all. Most of the time, I will still drive not feeling well, so I either have to be feeling REALLY horrible or have orders NOT to drive, LOL

2. Are you an introvert or extrovert? I’m an Introvert and proud of it! Introvert doesn’t mean shy. Spending time in huge crowds or with a lot of people just physically and mentally wears me out and actually makes me sick over time. I do better one on one or with smaller groups and when it’s more quiet and less noisy.

3. Are you married to an introvert or extrovert? My husband is an extrovert. Extremely! If areas are too crowded, he will get stressed out, though but that’s because of his bipolar. He will go up to anyone whether he knows them or not and start a conversation, though. He LOVES loud concerts and parties and I’d rather stay home. I think it’s a good mix even though it can be hard for introverts and extroverts to always understand each other. He gets me to do things that I would normally shy away from and I remind him to slow down sometimes. :)

4. What’s your favorite type of social media? I’m a Facebook girl! I just love Facebook and most everyone I keep in contact with has one, too so it’s just the best site for me to stay in contact with everyone.

5. What’s your favorite way to “recharge”? This kind of goes along with me being introverted because noisy, chaotic, busy situations wear me out and for ME, recharging is being alone or with just one other person, relaxing, watching a movie or reading. Quieter moments or solitude recharges me.

*The blog I got this from is NOT doing a 5QF this week so I took the liberty of finding a random OLD 5QF that was done way before I started doing them. These are the questions from the May 7th, 2010 post.*

1. What is your worst memory of your siblings? Well, the worst memory I can think of is my brother closing me up in some sort of trunk or box and I did NOT like it! Luckily, I didn’t get stuck in there too long!

2. What was YOUR naughtiest childhood memory? (Must be something YOU did, no pawning it off on someone else!) There are a few naughty things I remember but only through being told I did them…..I guess the naughtiest thing I remember is in Kindergarten or 1st grade when I told a teacher “F*** you”…yea…my brother was older than me and although he was deaf, he did do the finger and kind of mouthed it so I learned it and I got really mad for some reason and told the teacher that but I never did it again! It’s not so much saying it that I remember more so than what happened afterwards. My mom worked there in Pre-K at the time and it was a Christian school so instead of sending me to the principal, they went and told my Mom and I remember trying to run and hide in the bathroom shower stalls cause I knew I was in BIG trouble. My family believes in spankings and I definitely got one!

3. Where do you like to go to relax? Either in the big comfy chair in the living room or in bed…reading usually :)

4. What was the last thing you won? I believe it was a Rose Pendant Necklace that I won from a giveaway I entered from Kimberly Kinrade :) It’s so beautiful and I just adore Roses!

5. If you could be on a game show, which would you choose? I would love to be on “Wheel of Fortune”…I think I could totally rock it!

On to the questions!

1. Where do you hide things from your kids at? Well, it’s just me and my husband but he’s like a kid sometimes LOL…if I told my hiding places from HIM on here, he would know ;)

2. What is your favorite rainy day activity for bored toddlers? Last time I was around bored toddlers on a rainy days was about 7 years ago when I worked at a Preschool LOL….Rainy days are NOT good after hours of being stuck in a room, that’s for sure! You can sing and dance to songs, read books with the kids, do some arts and crafts, but eventually they are going to have too much energy and not enough of an outlet for it. If your home has a gym, there’s your solution, but how many homes have that? LOL MY favorite part of rainy days at the preschool was always Nap time :) At least after the very last kid was FINALLY asleep! Ah, peace AND quiet!

3. Are you a punctual person or are you always running a few minutes (or more!) late?? Read THIS for my opinion :)

4. When eating out, do you prefer off the beaten path “Mom and Pop” cafes or tried and true national food chains? Around here, my favorite places are tried and true food chains probably, but I don’t eat out very much anyways anymore. If I was in Austin, I would pick both because of Dan’s Hamburgers…I don’t even LIKE Hamburgers much and I LOVE theirs!

5. Does your significant other snore? Do YOU snore? My husband DOES snore, loudly like a freight train, BUT since he got his sleep machine, I just hear the machine usually. Once in a blue moon, the mask will get knocked over a bit in his sleep OR he will lay down and fall asleep before he puts in on and THEN I’ll hear it, but that’s very rare anymore. My husband said I only snore when I’m sick with a cold or having sinus problems, otherwise no. I can’t imagine anyone doesn’t though when they have a cold…

This 5 Question Friday was brought to you by:

On to the questions!

1. Would you go to your high school reunion? If I had one to go to! I graduated through an alternative school after dropping out in 10th grade due to bullying. I wanted to graduate on time instead of later and homeschooling wasn’t really working, so I went there and ended up graduating a few months earlier. I got a diploma for my local high school but I never actually went there so even if that counted for me to go to THEIR reunion, I wouldn’t know anyone! The alternative school I went to had tons of kids going in and out and they don’t do reunions as far as I know. I would have loved to go to a reunion at the school I left, just to go back a more confident woman who’s not afraid to stick up for herself and show all those old bullies that they didn’t keep me from living and being happy!

2. What’s something that you’ve recently splurged on; either for yourself or someone else? I don’t know…I mean, the money I get is pretty much what my husband gets and I guess you could say Amazon cards he got for me….I’m saving up on Amazon to get a new Kindle Fire HD with the 2 yr. warranty. I don’t feel like it’s splurging because I’ve been saving up since Christmas time and also using money from doing online surveys as well. :)

3. How do you handle your child’s fever? I don’t have a child, but I know that fevers are not all bad. It means that your body is fighting off infection and kids can get fevers from many things, such as when they’re teething, I believe. I would probably just keep an eye on it, give the child aspirin, maybe run bath water so the steam rises up or keep them cool if they’re hot. (I don’t have a kid, so don’t laugh at me if this isn’t the best stuff! :( ) I trust my mom a lot, so I would probably call her for advice. If the fever got too high or lasted too long, then definitely go to the hospital or doctor.

4. What’s the nicest thing to happen to you lately? The story I wrote about the other day explains it….”Angels in Disguise

5. What is your current favorite song? This is almost as hard as asking my favorite book! I’m going to say Papa Roach’s, “Leader of the Broken Hearts” just because I LOVE this chorus:

“And now I finally know what it feels like
To risk everything and still survive
When you’re standing on the battlefield
And all the pain is real
That’s when you realize
That you must’ve done something right
Cause you’ve never felt so alive”
